    I sent an email to Rapture who is listed as the contact on the Clanberries site for CA+. I don't know if his email address works, but the loss of Max has raised some interesting issues.

    1. Availability of CA+
    2. CA+ crashes on non-DM3/Q1EDGE maps (E1M2, UltraV, etc.)

    I think CA+ is a great mod and there are a lot of players that love it. One way or another we need to find a way for this mod to continue.

    This email address was listed on the Clanberries site. Do you still maintain the CA+ codebase? If so, is it possible to obtain this mod for servers or even better yet, is it possible to obtain the source so the mod can be further developed (crashes on most maps other than DM3 and Q1EDGE). There are still a number of CA+ enthusiasts that enjoy playing the mod.

      I never got a response (although a couple of years later Rapture posted a new CA+ version in the forum with some of this stuff fixed).

      About 2 weeks after the email, CAx started being developed

      Since this doesn't matter anymore, it was easy to crash any CA+ server by connecting and warping to E1M2 and killing yourself. Clan Arena is great, regardless of the mod someone likes the best, but running a server with CA+ sucked because it was not only crash prone but could be intentionally sabotaged due to stuff like that.

        In Rapture's defense, he was trying to re-tool the old buggy code that Mungo had originally made.
        I actually started developing CAx in 2004 for the CQL but once that tourney fell through, the project came to a halt until Bam was interested in reviving the project in 2006.
        CAx, (the x is actually the + sign turned on it's side), was totally rebuilt from the ground up. Except for the basic quakeC progs.dat v1.06 there's nothing of mungo's original CA code.
