  • Australian NetQuake Servers

We've had a couple of inquiries about NetQuake servers in Australia. Are there any? I know about several in Europe, the ones in Brazil, etc. Last year I was aware of an Australia NQ server, but it doesn't seem to hosted anymore.

Here is one to possibly check out, it's in New Zealand but it looks like it is running CTF.

    Server address: 203.96.92.69:26000
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

    Desperate!

I've been searching for some Aussie servers over the past few days, but have come up with precious little on the NetQuake front.
There are a few Quakeworld servers, but they're mostly team fortress.
If there is anyone out there in Australia who is interested in some good old fashion Deathmatch, send me an email:

    [email protected]

    I'm very keen!

I know the Australian Quakeworld community is pretty active and here is a good list of Quakeworld servers in Australia.

I prefer NQ multiplayer myself, but doesn't seem like too many of those servers are in AU, at least right now.

NetQuake until QuakeOne, at least on the multiplayer front, on a whole has not been very organized.

Certain communities have been highly organized (RuneCentral/TLTQ/QuakeBoard/Singed) but outside of those communities, at least in my perception, the level of organization and information spread hasn't been so hot.

Examples are mods like CA+, CRMOD and CRCTF which have closed source codes and therefore are dead, plus some communities (Quake.de) which don't even seem to know about JoeQuake and QRack.

          Things are changing.

it's funny you mentioned this. I was just playing quakeworld the other day with some ausie folks and they were all pinging 300ish. I offered them help in setting up their own server and sent them the address to my clan site for help.
I hadn't even been to my clan site for ages, but i'm attempting to rejuvinate it.
