  • Clan by Lerster

I'm thinking of starting a CA/RA/CTF clan, i'd make a website, that would have a contact page, that goes to a gmail email where, i'd ask all that are interested to, send me their seven day wk, schedule, and roughly what time during the week they would be available for practice or matches, and i'd post schedules of such events on the site as well, of course that's all after i find out if there is an interest to join a clan run by me.

The clan would be "LP" it'd be labelled after your present alias, single spaced from ur alias, silver dot, silver L in caps, rust color P in caps, gold dot.

The clan LP would stand for "Levatation Prozak".

I am making this post and this poll, to find out if there was any interest at all.

As i'm dreading doing the html.

    As i haven't touched html in like 13yrs =/

Anyways, we'll see how the poll goes, it's 100% annonymous. I just am curious if i should even bother.

As i am jobless atm, so i have more than adequate time to commit to working schedules and stuffs.

Quake community is so small now a days, that clans are pointless. No offense.
I mean, if there are only 16 people playing CA this month, (or even CTF), why limit teams to a fixed group of people vs the other set group of people. Those 16 players should be able to mix and match teams to contrive the best teams for the moment. Eh?

You can still make a "party pix" website posting demos, scoreboard shots, stats etc.. this would only focus game play and highlight the active quake scene.

IMHO, I had more fun playing Quake CTF in a lax pickup game style, one game after another for 5 hours straight, instead of the 20 minute matches, and the other 40-60 minutes, listening to people argue about which map, and the infamous "CAM me bro!", by someone i dont need to name atm. Bring back pub ctf or invent pickup games for DM and Quake will have an encore of newbs to beat down again!

edit: reminds me to try Quake Live again sometime

Quake live is a poor replacement, the weapons arent nearly the same, and the overall physics compared to quake 1 sucks, if you ask me. I liked how quake 1 is overall, quake live is basically a slap in the face of the gameplay quake 1 had.

I agree, Quake Live is has slow player movements and waaay to bight maps. The only game mode i have fun playing is ffa but even then its too easy to give the other players old tricks like the loop around, the zig-zag, the switch, door jump, and perch because none of them look up and they expect you to move around as mindlessly as they do. Also, they never really take to exploring and it's almost as if they are on a set track.

Wow if we are waiting on DM to invent "Pickup games" , then we are all doomed.we should start finding a replacement for q1 now, before all thats left is the quaker-hater group.
