My guess is that it probably doesn't happen if you are logged in.

I know Solecord has a theory of logged in versus unlogged in users.
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

yeah,im sure steve changed nothing, and the ad company has a particular section of "ad" / "code" , and that particular one is doing it.

if we could understand any identifiable portion maybe it could be filtered to asterisk that particular ad and auto-reload until a normal one occurs, but maybe this would conflict with an agreement of some sort.

just a minor inconvience, unless your in the middle of something, like phenom mentioned.

Yea, I got it twice. It's the ad company. I believe it only shows once and when you click Skip it saves a cookie to never show again. I cleaned my cookies and got it again.

The ad company that serves ads here just added a bunch of new ads to their rotation last month and this month. I don't choose what gets shown or not, although I believe I have the option to opt out of an ad if I contact the ad company. If something gets too obtrusive, I will opt out of that ad.

Okay, this isnt a issue i only once in awhile clean that nonsense. Plus I dont fall into that *omg cookies r teh bad !* category,so!They are needed for things, including avoiding this thing.

                  Solved!

Om this is the 100th time I've seen this ad (I clear browser cache every time I close my browser) and out of those 100 times just recently I'm noticing the "Skip this ad option" has VANISHED!

Solecord I'm not sure what ad company you're affiliating with but they're feeding me a bunch of stuff I'd never click on.

I'd tell'em where they could stick their "Skip this ad"

lol i've seen the ad, once or twice, doesn't bother me much as i'm used to these things poping up, my least favorite are the ones with audio and the oversized (stretched) to be in your field of view, ad, with the hidden X way the fuck at the right top of the screen rather then on the side of the fucking thing.

                      These ads bug me.

But, so far no ad has pissed me off on quake1, tho, i have had to click the skip ad before, not even sure what the ad was... but w/e.

Do you get paid for allowing these ads?

                        Just curious

obviously, newbs like me see celebrities like Stan Lee jibba jabbin in the top portion of the screen, and once I rung my panties out I clicked the link and actually listened to what the ad said.

And then one day, the axe guy tried to spray my mouse pointer from his arm pit's,and that was a scary sight.

Today alone,I've been hit with 4-5 Skip this ad page's, all within 30minutes.

Using latest chrome, cookies enabled, no browsers have been closed.I do utilize the back button a lot?
