I used to play as "The Shining One" back in early NetQuake days (96-9..

I just reinstalled this last week and been looking to find some DM games...where do people play and at what time?

Can't tell if troll or serious. Just in case of the latter, here's a pointer:

Any unfamiliar player is Kimp. Any map vote is Kimp

Kimp is some greatest troll who used to go around and fuck up games, ping flood people etc. Now everyone is super-paranoid and think that everyone who connects with an unfamiliar name and their IP doesn't match anything in their iplog, he must be Kimp and he must be destroyed.

4. It's funny how your IP is a proxy that I have logged that you have played on before, that is already banned on hdz from months and months ago.

Baker, in the shmack admins thread on Runequake.com check in the thread "kimps ip's", you'll see dated posts with this proxy (71.185) from February on up to September.

2. I disconnected becuase I knew you would try to ban my ip.
3. I've played NetQuake since 96....anyone who has played for that long knows how to do those jumps.
4. I happen to have the same isp (Verizon) and I am from Pittsburg...so Philly isn't that far away..

Colors aren't specific to players. Anyone can choose 0 3, or any other color combo.

If I was a newbie connecting to a server, and someone said "you're getting banned" and became an admin, I would leave too.

My IP has changed a few times in the past, and it tends to start in 24.101/24.253. ISPs tend to use the same IP subsets.

Philadelphia (and Camden, NJ, where Kimp supposedly lives) are part of a heavily populated urban area known as a megatropolis. It's not hard to imagine two Quake players could be in this same area and have the same ISP.

Nowhere, in any reading, have I read that when Badaim admin'd up, did he forewarn you that he would ban that i.p.

This is the only concrete part of the argument. It's possible that Badaim said something like "Kimp, I'm gonna ban you" on the server before he became admin, but we don't know whether or not that happened.

FOQ, why are you trolling this thread and giving your two cents when you know nothing about the way kimp operates or what I know of kimp?

Shining is in fact kimp. Kimp over aim receiving im's with a netstat in dos gives the same IP that "the shining one" is using on the servers, GG.

Quit feeding into kimps bullshit and quit, because its a "new player", giving him the benefit of doubt. It is kimp, end of story.

Kimp has very distinct play-style and personality, that matched up with IP evidence and location evidence on-top of first hand witnessing him play under a different alias it becomes obvious when Kimp is playing.

But yea, people need to stop with the assumption of every 5th player is Kimp without hard evidence. Scares off the green-peas.

Yep, that's rock solid proof. I prefer to give the benefit of the doubt to new players, as you say. However, I would like to point out that I know everything about Kimp that you do. He crashes games, impersonates people, digs around in people's lives and so on. I've read all the threads here. The only thing I don't have is a detailed iplog full of addresses Kimp has used in the past.
