Looking for winQuake regular DM opponents

I own WinQuake and love just regular old-school multiplayer (preferably 1 on 1) games on the original DMs, srq1, and ztndm3. The problem is I only have one person I play against (I think we are pretty good...not elite, but very good).

If anybody wants to do an IP game my AIM sn is canilotais.

Are there existing servers for what I'm looking for? I would deathmatch hours every day if I wasn't computer retarded. Perhaps you can help me.

There are plenty of DM servers out there.

Some of the ones that come to mind are quake.crmod.com which runs in ProQuake cheat-free mode. (CRMOD servers list)

WinProQuake is an almost identical to WinQuake in every way. You will need ProQuake and the cheat-free module to play on cheat-free servers such as quake.crmod.com

Get ProQuake + security module: Download Installer (includes cheat-free module) or manual install from ftp://ftp.runecentral.com/quake/engines/proquake/3.50/

Probably the easiest server to get DM action on is quake.shmack.net:26002, especially in the evenings. Usually just pop into quake.shmack.net and ask if "anyone is up for some 26002?" and usually it works.

Another method is to connect to ca.clanhdz.com and ask Clan Arena players if they want to DM. You'll need to be using ProQuake to connect to this server. You might also be able to get players if you see anyone on bomber.ironrocket.com server.

I'm operating off the assumption that you are in the United States. Here is a list of European servers if I'm wrong on that.

On another note, if you like pure DM on custom maps, you will probably be very happy with a new server that is coming next week.

Within a couple of days there will be solid server list coming forth in a new QView release, you can also check for Quake servers on http://www.quake1.net which is an excellent resource.
