Here's a little clip of Darkplaces running RQ Coop on my laptop. We had like 10 people on the server: Me, Spaz, Souless, Monster, Rebel Scum, Mindz, and Smokey. Doesn't take much to get it running good. I was playing with some fellas who have HD5870's and GTX295's - rich bastards.

I need to get Shok, Retro and some other fools up in this bitch wit me. Magnus also has a 5870. Anyways, I'm working on an easy config and auto installer for DP COOP - this way it's less complicated for newbs. This will be for folks with decent systems to run it on. If you have a good rig, HIT ME UP!!!

I made this video in only the second highest detail setting of DP at only 640x480 0xAA, 8xAF resolution... Anything higher makes my laptop take a dump and I didn't feel like diggin my 4890 out of the box... rofl. I can only dream of what it looks like on 1080P 4xAA 16xAF with full lighting settings and an HD texture pack.

That project kinda died. It was pretty much between me, Zop and Spooker... and Spooker's never around anymore. I'll talk to Zop about it and see what we can do.

This is my complete autoexec.cfg... I use Darkplaces, so it ought to be relevant. I don't use very many fancy commands... I just use the High preset for the effects, and Normal for lighting (I can run High or even Full, but I don't care too much for Bloom/HDR in Quake, or RT world).

I like your line of thought, though. More newb-friendly content. It doesn't get much more newb-friendly than using .pk3 files... drop textures.pk3 in ID1 for example to get nice textures. We already have this with Rygel's "high" texture pack, but some digging needs to be done to find it...

I was obviously clueless that you were recording a video. Nice job getting all of the fun parts... We need to do that more often. You use the red polygon LG beam? Was wondering what that was... hehe.

I use about the same settings as TV here, Darkplaces is awesome once you set it up right. I might just install the Rygel textures again and tweak them some more... Some of them still look oddly out of place for me. (I was one of the guys with a 5870 ) DP has lots of hidden commands that could use some placing in the menus. I've used DP ever since I first heard of it back some years ago...

Haha, yea that was a blast. It felt like we was a fn platoon of Quake Marines !!!!

Next time this happens , I'm going to load up Fraps, DarkPlaces , and do some real-time recording / gaming at the same time

Yep 2ghtz 2gb RAM and that card. Free from Dad as they got a desktop and 3 laptops between them. They were getting a BSOD - said I can fix and have. He gave up on it (and he was a Manager at Staples lol) - cause - loose sound card.
