  • Your favorite Quake period/moments?

Mine was definately 97-2000. I was not LPB until 2001 I think, but I had oso much fun playing as an HPB.

I clearly remember playing on quake.petronet.net headhunters and having about 300 ping holding over 60 heads and ALMOST to the alter when my head was blown to pieces. As shitty as that was, it was one of my most intense moments in Quake memory.

I also loooved erols ctf. Good god that was awesome. Pick up games with 16 players shots blasting everywhere exposions going off doors opening and closing, the MAYHEM.

Trinicom was boring to me. I'm hoping R00k incorporates scrag ctf + runequake soon

I also loved those days because not to many clans had websites and such. ICQ or mIRC was the best way of contact, and even that was rare. It was fun to hop online to the same server each day to meet up with clanmates. That was alwas exciting.

    RIP 97-2000

Hmmm it depends on what form of greatest moment.

In the sense of normal. It was completing Quake 1 Co-Op on Nightmare with Autopsychotic in LAN (if you follow Bulletstorm - he won the 1 of a kind Bulletstorm PS3 Console - I will be checking it out soon and post back with pics ). We played through on Tenebrae and had the fog thick. This was back when Tenebrae was the shit. It made it hard with the fog and all and with the custom skins out then - it looked amazing.

In Multiplayer - getting a double air rocket kill (hit them below, knocked upward and hit one midair but the splash killed the other too) followed by a third right after (guy jumping down from a platform) who was coming to their aide too late.

Modern - honestly it was completing my version of the Enforcer (one shown in my screenshots). Can't release due to DooM 3 content and also completing the Moo/Mine Grunt as that skin had alot of work into it. Animations were difficult too due to the limiting frames.

      98-2000 > 02-04 > 06-08 > now

The 98-2000 days where you could pull up most any random server and it would have at least 5 people on it, those were the days.

Me Too!!! Petronet was the best.. Brought a lot of laughs on my damn dial up connection. Couldn't do much other than distract people. But.. it was fun doing it! Eventually going into ride mode after getting slaughtered so many times. Had fun into the wee hours. Viper ran that server right? He had a great setup until the end when he kept trying to modify it to cut down on campers at the goal. CTF was great back then too. I have to admit though.. I had to go into empty ctf servers to learn the damn maps.. Kept getting lost!!!! But Frenzy.. I don't remember you in Petro? Another name perhaps? lol

One of my favorite moments was when I played a DM TG on a map that wasn't DM3.
