The worst thing that kimp does these days is go afk in the middle of a game. Nothing worse than what mindz does all the time. It's time for you guys to get over kimp and just move on. He actually helps generate activity in the dm community.

I tend to agree with both Retro and CD. I've been paying close attention to his activity (in all aspects) on my server and haven't seen anything to fret over. There have been a few complaints of him going AFK or "ruining DM games", and I understand the frustration of something like that. However, there is much more animosity when it's Kimp, but only because of his past history. Should it have been another player, it wouldn't be a big deal. In fact, Crow and another player did this just a few days back - no big deal. This happens quite frequently in CA, and of course the stakes aren't as high in CA, but still.

I don't mind if he plays in the tournament - the more the merrier I say. I'm starting to wonder if the people who want to ban him from every server known to mankind have a personal vendetta against him, rather than it simply be about his behavior. I also tend to believe that those who so badly want him banned are the ones who have admin on other servers and they simply don't have the control over him that they once had and...enjoyed - I think this burns them deeply. I don't mean to make light of the way he has acted in the past, but to me, it's a simple issue. If a player causes problems, they should be kicked or banned, and if they don't, they can play - regardless of whether or not their alias is kimp. I mean no offense to anyone who feels differently, but it does seem like some are way too emotionally attached to the idea of keeping kimp under their thumb. Look at it this way: If a person commits a crime, they are punished (jail), and they serve their time. When they do, the slate should be wiped clean. In a way, quaketx has given him a second chance and he's getting along just fine. I see no reason (currently) to continue to shun him from the community. A frag is a frag, even if it's kimp. And, it's true: He has, like it or not, promoted our game, and that's a good thing. You gotta give credit where credit is due.

There are those of you afraid he will cheat in the tourney, should he be allowed to play.. I have a hard time buying this. Past performance is no indication of future results. I've seen kimp bot on shmack - hell, I played a good hour against his bot. Everyone else left the server, but I stayed and had a great time trying to beat the damn thing. I think the word "cheat" is often confused. He botted right out in the open - not to "cheat", but to play around. If someone botted/toggled in secret during a tournament to increase their frag count and win, yes that would be cheating. The reason I doubt he would cheat is because he wants this tournament as much as the next guy, and I can't see him ruining something he enjoys. Also, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE would have their eye on him. If suspected of cheating, he'd obviously be banned, same as anyone else.

Lastly, I agree with Baker in a lot of ways. It's not "kimp", but poor behavior that we're after. He's not behaving poorly, so why are we after him?

behaving poorly has been kimp's forte for about 2years. Kimp has taken a gay poop on Quake1 many times.Having hacks still and stretching its legs on your server doesn't negate the fact that he will in all likely hood,when no one is looking, make all of you bleeding heart's look like fools.

Wow, its been the longest time since ive been on here or played quake, but yall are still having the "Kimp" Issue!? i would have thought that everyone would have got over this by now because i swear there is no getting rid of him he will keep coming back as long as hes alive (dont get any ideas lol) and ya he uses a bot sometimes he even told me a while back, here is what he uses (The Stanford StoogeBot) but like i said there is no getting rid of him he will find his way back in to play one way or another.

You're juding the matter too harshly. There are circumstances that need to be taken into account which I didn't mention. Here is why I didn't take issue with it:

When I say everyone left - there were 5 people on the server, 3 of them left. Only 1 other was in rotation, the other 2 chatting. We weren't taking it seriously (we even used runes at one point). If I remember correctly, they thought it was humorous until they found out it was kimp - which tells me it wasn't the bot they were concerned with, but with who was using it. To me, it was no different than the CA admins pumping their health to 100k in practice mode. Why isn't that considered cheating? Don't say, "because it's practice mode", because a lot of folks take practice mode seriously; MELEE TO 100 BABY.

A man shoplifts a bit of food. He's not flat broke, but can't quite seem to make ends meet. He isn't starving, but at the moment isn't 100 percent sure where his next meal will come from. It is his first ever criminal offense, and he really wishes he hadn't done this. Quite likely, no one is going to make a huge deal of it. Another man steals a case of beer because he wants to get his jollies off. He doesn't need the beer, obviously, and has enough money to purchase it. He has no remorse about his actions. He has several misdemeanors and a felony conviction to his name. Quite likely, people are going to want to see this guy put away for a good long while.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.. but lest not we forget what he did for the better part of a 3 year stretch..

Over and over again he would stop for a few months, we'll get players hollering about how he's good for the community, he's playing the game the right way etc.. and once again it would begin and the same people come back and say never again.. we're banning him for good etc..

This isn't a case of Q Mark.. he actually stopped cold turkey and never continued.. he bullied the community for years until eventually he just ceased and began chatting with players.. Kimp can't socialize properly (unlike Mark).. so trying to integrate him with the rest of the players is quite difficult since he's incoherent and nonsensical..

Servers have been shut down, players have been flooded repeatedly, servers have been spammed with his clients, he went afk in mid matches even though he's actually there (unlike Mindz).. this is what I can come up with but I'm sure others have varying stories..

As I stated previously this isn't the first time he's done this and you can only slap a person on the wrist so many times before you put them away for good.. this is just a cycle that repeats itself.. you guys are idiots for continuously giving him chances but you're good people.. and if he's acting alright now.. deal with the consequences down the road.. his bi polar behavior won't waver
