I for one will no longer play in any games he is a part of. I don't care if we have to do 3s, or 2s, or 1s, the game is not enhanced with the presence of a cheater. If we want to build and sustain a community, the best place to start is by not having people feeling cheated by this individual.

I for one have never appreciated him on the server. He joined rage, And mindz decided rolling a joint was more important then banning him(he was on rage for about 5 minutes and i kept saying "BAN KIMP").

I've really decided to take a more relaxed position on the whole Kimp subject, because honestly, I'm tired of fucking running up hill. Fuck the bull shit son, I'm walking down hill. Putting it simpler, I'll worry about myself and enjoying myself in Quake. I would rather RAGE-DELETE my entire Quake folder than acknowledge Kimp. He's been a pestilence on our community for a well documented 3 years,.

Mindzx. In this regard, I agree with you. If you ban him during a game, you're a goat. If you don't ban him quick enough on a different server, you're a goat. Obviously it's not quite as simple as I just stated.. I understand why you're tired of the whole thing - I've only dealt with the kimp issue for a few months now and I'm growing tired of it as well. To ban or not to ban? bleh

Anyway, as far as his cheating goes, there are a few things I find...let's say "quirky": Omicron accused Patrick of cheating not two days ago. Lots of trash talk, yes you do, no I don't, etc etc. Does Omicron refuse to play with Patrick? No. Is it because he doesn't really believe Patrick was cheating? Maybe. Will Omicron forever in the back of his mind, however slight, think that Patrick cheats? No idea. Should anyone else refuse to play with Pat because of an accusation? Nahhhhh =)

On the other hand, no one really believed Patrick was cheating, but for some reason the issue was brought up on several occasions. Was it because Patrick *was* cheating and set out to prove otherwise? No idea. Was it because Patrick was truly offended by such an accusation and set out to dispel such a myth? Probably.

The other day, Retrocade was mildly accused of cheating. A defence was made, words exchanged, accusations retracted, and so on and so forth down a long list of quakers who've been accused of cheating.

Without evidence, it is impossible to say. Kimp's reputation is obviously, and possibly for good reason, very poor - but it seems reputation alone seems to determine the outcome in your own minds. Has anyone here read "To Kill A Mockingbird"?

If someone is actually cheating, instead of accusing on the servers or forums, please simply be quiet and eyecam the suspect, record a demo, screenshot some efficiency stats and so on. Post them for review, let the community do what it will.

okay i hate to be the one who always seems to be sticking up for kimp (because he does bother me sometimes) but i've still yet to see any real cheating from him (altho i will say that back when i started playing again he was using binds that would time spawns/tell when items were took).. but since he's been playing on quaketx he's seemed to play pretty normal.. as for the 2 clients thing, he was trying out quaketv (for the tournament, to help more people be actually able to view the games since the servers would've been full) and he clearly said that, so that's just another example of people taking his actions way out of proportion


i think that although many of us hate to admit it (because he can be annoying/does stupid shit), kimp actually is a pretty good player (atleast in dm) and has a better understanding of strategy then a lot of players

if you actually eyecam kimp, most of his game involves trying to control rl/ya, and you cant really point out any cheating.. and i know we've all seen him play 1v1 a bunch of times and it's obvious he doesn't use timers with the weapon/armor spawns

honestly, it just bothers me a little when people who don't play alot of dm call out cheating, because their surprised somebody would check in the corner of the Y.A box, or expect someone to be a the top of RA, or shoot at the locations of weapons/ammo/pillars in the water, or hiding at RL, or somewhere on lifts, or behind the corner at pent infront of the mega, etc etc when every dm'er knows those are all spots you should look/listen for (as well as practically every corner you can reasonably look at while you're playing)

just because someone(to whoever this applies) walks around blindly or doesn't understand the binds of his teammates and can't put 2+2 together (if you're teammates are in one area, then chances are the enemies are in another?), or even bother to listen to sounds, doesn't mean that's how everyone plays

with all that said, it would be better if tremor set culentities to 2 or whatever just so we don't have to hear noobs complaining all the time or stopping mid game to ask dumb questions.. we were playing without the extra glow on other servers so it doesn't matter too much either way.. most players arn't even fast/smart/pay enough attention to take advantage of it and still get owned by quad/pent even when they know their coming right around the corner

I don't have a problem with you, I just get bored on the servers in between games (and sometimes during), so I fuck with people. The ones who react with surprise and get upset about it are the ones I continually mess with.
