But there is no need, my friend, as you already have them :d :d

They are the same as the Bomber maps

      Coincidence? I think not.

Note: Based on some recent conversations I've had, the mod can't be called either FreeQuake compatible nor shareware compatible due to legal stuff ... rather than get caught up on this, I should (hope) to have a "FreeQuake 2.0"-ish in mere days (maybe even tomorrow if I find the time), although that can't be the name that meets these requirements.

Same difference at the end of the day for all practical purposes. I've been working on dotting i's and crossing t's, and doing other homework on all this stuff.

          [/end blah blah blah]

Can't use Quake in the name, it would violate their trademark. "FreeQuake 2.0" has no ID content and therefore can't use "Quake" in the name.

The plus is that the license agreement doesn't apply at all. There are some asterisks, but I'm on that

It's a difficult sea to navigate, but I'm almost thru it. In the end, the bonds that keep Quake in limbo (can't buy it anywhere, but it isn't free either, yada, yada, yada) are broken and Quake lives again (I expect, you never know for sure). I'll also be giving the end result over to the QW head honchos for whatever they want to do with it.

CheapAlert deserves a great deal of credit for this, we wouldn't have learned about any of this if it weren't for the eQuake debates.

why cant you just get them to condone it? for example , Enemy Territory was free, but it carried the name Return to Castle Wolfenstien:Enemy Territory.

rather than work against the idea of avoiding having anything to do with ID Software, or its name "Quake"... why not colloborate, and get permission? and operate under a GPL ?

I have to leave, but when I have more time I can explain this taking the time I'd like to spend on that issue.

Besides, have no fear! It's all good.

                  Trust me.
