I started a game of Quake on "normal" mode and got pretty far into the 2nd episode but I'm finding it a bit too easy (just bought it on steam, haven't played in over 10 years). Is there a way to edit the save file and change the setting to "hard" so I don't have to start a new game? I can open the .sav file with notepad and then copy and paste into word but I don't see anything that relates to difficulty?....any ideas?

That's the way with the commands
I know you can change it to nitemare mode by going through the initial teleport in Start map, then take a right up the steps, hop in the water, hug the wall and drop onto the "platform" below, then follow the path.

Yep, but if someone don't want to use any console commands - still there is a possibility to change difficulty level in start room after finishing an episode.Originally posted by foq View PostComment
