A good question to ask is how people came up with their quake aliases. Yellow No. 5 chooses to be the fifth while Phenom is phenominal Let's indulge each other on how we came up with our aliases.

    Janitor (96 and up):
Simple name my bro came up with. He played on the same computer as I did so I just kept the name. Back then no one really cared about names or colours. The name symbolized that we clean up all the monsters/players as they are seen as the mess in quake. Gotta clean clean clean

    Canadian*Sniper (around 2000):
The name I adopted after getting back into the quake scene. I quickly grew accustomed to killing people from a distance with the shotgun. You never ran out of ammo and you always had it. I called myself a sniper and did nothing but snipe everyone. I'm not a big fan of the rocket launcher or shaft.

While getting used to the shotgun, the FvF mod had a Sniper class of it's own where you could do 125 damage with precise aim. This became my favourite class during the time and it improved my aim greatly. During those few years I might have been changing names here and there but after a while, Canadian*Sniper just felt right. I will forever be Quake's Canadian*Sniper.

I first connected to a Quake server in 1999 using the name Locust[4]. I don't know why, I just needed a name and choose that.

I later went by the name E 175 when I got DSL. Then I went back to dialup because I couldn't get DSL and changed my name again.

In 2000, I happened to use the name "Baker" for a few weeks and got asked by Slot Zero if I would help test the first incarnation of Rune Central.

I registered as "Baker" and even though I that isn't really what I wanted to be named, that's my name! :d :d I've never been able to escape it, I don't mind "Baker" but I wanted a cooler name.

When I joined eSx with Mindz, I changed my name to [eSx]MaCH1nE175, sticking the E 175 on the end.

But I usually just make up a random name and play (mostly because I get tired of cheating accusations -- sensitivity 42). Then I stuck with "Green Guy" for a long time (although I was also blue, heh :d -- some ppl thought that was funny "omg, I just noticed your are blue.")

And when eSx dried up (I know a couple of members as still around) and Phenom and Mindz started SNS, I decided SNS Mr. Green wasn't a bad name.

I believe you forgot to mention Javiar (spalling?) and I forgot to mention ANnipers (CAN*Sniper`s69`)

Phenom wanted me to make a mainstream `SNS`namehere tag but I shall forever decline

Hmm....I checked "Quake Central" but I couldn't find it....anyway I had made a topic like this.

Anyway, mine's pretty simple. I began my quake career as "raptor", but then I found out someone was already playing as that name and their friends kept confusing that dude with me, so I tacked "quad" on the name so it would sound quake-related.

SoulTaker came from the anime, "The SoulTaker"

F1R3ST4RT3R is just an original name I came up with.

STONEWALL (when I was in LT. on Quake 2) is a reference to my favorite Civil War general, Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson.

MindfieldzX , Prodigy ~ Fat of the Land. XL Records. Released in 1997 , I started using Mindfieldz as my quake name shortly after recieving the CD in the mail, kindly sent to me from a family of 5 from South Whales,Australia, who I had met on a chatroom. They released the CD "Fat of the Land" in Australia about 3-4 months prior to a U.S. release , and I was one of the first people in the states to own a copy.I was mesmerized by the song mindfields. After many years of quaking, the IHOC community began calling me Mindzy for short , and it became a nickname that has stuck with me ever since, now, thats why everyone calls me mindz or mindzy , and after the nickname stuck,I started using MindzX ocassionally.prior to using mindfieldz as a quake name,I dont recall much of those days,I always used a different name.

ps : the CD I recieved from Australia was "Baby Shit Brown" colored, the US release was a greenish-blue color.I loaned out my CD one day, only to have it cracked & broken.I've never lent out a CD since.

I don't remember the very first name I ever used when I connected but the first clan I joined was the Mage clan on some DM and CTF servers back when Quake was originally released... the members were all "IceMage" or "LightMage" so I took "FireMage" I used that name for a couple months.

Next I joined a CTF clan called /V\idnight and I needed a new name cause FireMage didn't seem to fit. I believe I was browsing some clan sites to get ideas on making web page designs and came across a Doom site and someone was using the name BioVirus so I "stole" that name and used it in Quake.

For awhile after that I used random names and then joined another CTF clan called DM - Drunken Masters... again needed a new name and I was listening to a Godsmack CD so I used godsmack-dm-

Random names again after that until I joined TuSa... I cannot remember where I got the name Solecord from but ever since I joined TuSa I've been using Solecord as my nick... even brought it with me to Clan Zero... now I've shortened it to -sole-

I've had many name. Everyone remembers George, I just made that up. Hat was a silly name I made up when I first connected to FvF some time back (I was like 10) and everyone remembers that too. I got The F0Qer because everyone called me foq or foqer... And for those of you who have seen me as Lifebreak, I used that for a shor while because I was on a Unreal server w/ lots of tough names like Dark Wing so I wanted one. I spent a long time on coming up with Lifebreak.

My first name was Barazoap.. which meant "Bar of soap". The story behind that was "Hahaha, that would be funny!"

Then I started college and on my first test I missed one question, "What is the stardard for wireless?" to which the correct answer was "IEEE 802.11" so I was like "Hahaha, I'll never forget that again!" and used it as my name.

More recently I play as "LimaLima" to which the back story is "Hahaha, that would be funny!" But more secretly, it's very similar to the way I create my passwords... shhhh!

                              nice drawing sniper.

I went by 2 names. I started out with michael, my real name, then when I was like 12 I think, I started going by Monster. Because I have an obsession with Monsters. Every kind of MONSTER.
