I don't know when I left, exactly. I know that I started moving away from Q for CS, WC3, and then self-imposed game abstinence around 2005-6. Have you been playing off and on since then? Were you married before 2007? I don't remember any hoopla about a new Mrs. Bruce. A belated, second congrats, though.

In Jan. 2008 I left for West Africa & the Peace Corps and didn't look back. I recently started cranking out a thesis and got an irresistible urge to slack off on the boring stuff and play Q again. It's nice, in a way, that the scene is small now, cause I don't completely trust my self-control even now. Hah.

Good stuff on the quaketx rankings. It'd be nice to see it move toward something on the level of what QLive has. I don't see my name on there, though, and I know I've played at quaketx. I wonder if it's still updating.

Alright, so...Quake revival. What's your plan of action?

@Diaper: I got married in 2007 so ya probably before you left. But I've been with her since 2003. Quake, the same community as when you left is still here. Every single player that was around before you left still plays. NetQuake, to not confuse anyone, is what we call it now because we do have some QW palyers. NetQuake revives about 1 time a year and lasts approximately 6 months. For example, if we start now, people will continue to play until December, then it'll die for 6 months. Last year, over this 6 month period we had 16 players on the server almost every night. A big win for the community. Since the community is small we've become closer. I don't trust myself with NetQuake either so I must be very careful. Because when games get going it's like the early 2000's again and it's just an insane amount of fun. You should watch some of the old demo's of yourself on challenge-tv and I can give you some too. I have quite a bit of our 4v4's back in the day. It's good to have you back. Even if you don't play, post on this forum occasionally so we know you're still alive. The only person I really haven't seen in years is MT.

LOL I didn't just jump right in, I started off line first on just the monsters, then mindz put my ex's face on the guys then after shooting at him (lol) i was hooked. It's the best way to blow off steam

The west server is almost ready, just gotta upload the crmod files and tweak some settings, any suggestions for custom maps? So far ive got ztndm3 & ultrav. Let me know thxs!
Also the server is UP but its running CRCTF (which has TDM built in) just type 'deathmatch' at the moment until im able to get home and swap mods.. Or if you like the TDM already on server that 'rook' so kindly built let me know and ill leave it up. Try it before you dis it, thxs
