my name came about when, a coupe years ago, i registered for a runescape account(lame...)
anyway, the part "sylux" is the name of a bounty hunter in the ds game "metroid prime-hunters". the 2803 was part of one of my old friend's street address. my original idea was sylux2803, but it was taken, so i added "man". i went by syluxman2803 a while,then changed to "the_hegemon", but when i got back into quake i figured to go back to my my first name to clear any confusion.

RL stands for Rocket Launcher. I chose the word "Clown" because I like Twiztid and many other Psychopathic musicians. Hence I have the name RL Clown. (It's not much of a story, but there is my answer.)

My 1st quake name was "UnknownQSoldier" after the DC comic


Then I saw another player using a "funchar" version of the same name (without the Q) but he was a total a$$h0l3, so
i changed my name to r00k1e as i was starting to play CTF and didnt want peeps to bitch at me for not knowing how to hook.

After a couple months playing on 1 server I saw a "Rook13" on another server (netdoor), so i dropped the 1e to just "r00k".
Later i found out there was a "RO0k" on the DM scene, friends of "Bishop" and "Jester", but he stopped playing around 2001.
So I kept my tag, as it looked different.
In other games i use SputnikUtah, which is totally original, and crudely translates to "High People in High Places" or literally "traveling companion of the Earth","top of the mountains."

My original Quake name in rthe IHOC days was Rook, but turned out I got confused with the "guy who modded".

The meaning of my old name Rook was to symbolize the Rook Chess piece as it's a solid almost impenetrable fortress or a "force to be reckoned with".

Took my nick off a postcard hanging on the wall in my dad's room. It was some motive from the TV series which I never actually watched. So, chosen on a whim from something that was around.

My other nick is Case, or Case(SomeNumber) after the character from "Neuromancer", one of my favourite novels. A book everyone should read.

I was in some clan called [FoQ] Fatalaties of Quake, which died out very quickly. I carried the tag by myself for 1-2 years, and people started calling me the foqer. Later shortened down to foq. Outside of Quake, I use the name Downgraded286.
