  • quake water dripping sounds is everywhere

    howdy.

my most recent obsession.. Dark Souls. when played with the mod DSfix created by a fan, Durante, is incredible. literally love this game almost as much as quake.. and i couldnt help notice that in a level named "The Depths" almost the exact same water dripping sound is used that is in Quake! if for no other reason, you all should check this game out just to see if im off my rocker, or that perhaps ive lost my marbles instead.

    long live Quakeone

    Hello kreaper,

Thank you for mentioning the game "Dark Souls".
Around 3 days ago I was in a computerstore near my home and was looking at the game Dark Souls. The DVD cover and screenshots on the back have been very interesting.
So I went home and googled for it to learn more about it.
Many reviews wrote, that it is very hard and therefore frustrating, but the game itself is very good,

So now my question to you:
    Is this true ?
Because 50 Euro is too much to just "try" it...

I personally LOVE these type of themed games.
It is very much like the Disciples series (you maybe know this turn-based-strategy game)...
It is dark, apocalyptic, statanic, evil and fantasy.
    Just like Quake !

Dont be affright, I just want to post some screenshots here.

    Dark Souls:

    Disciples:

    Healing:
"... and he shed light on them, and he shed warmth and grace upon them."
    Resurrection:
"... and he blew the song of life, and everyone responded, even those who have been silenced forever."
    Resurrection 2:
"... And I saw the light, and he came to me and said that it was not my time yet."
    Summon a Golem:
"... And he rose from the ashes and mud, naked, like a child, but not afraid of steel and flame."

      hey seven,

yes. Dark Souls is BRUTAL. you pretty much need, at the very least, to once over a walkthrough made by a personally trusted site/individual before starting. but once you get the hang of it and understand all the drops/stats/equipment etc it is loads of fun. i cant stop messing with it.

also i have always been a fan of a turn based strategy game Heroes of Might and Magic, i believe there is I-VI now.. but ur Disciples shots look amazing, might have to go look it up

p.s. dont forget if you do grab DS for PC that you go check out the dark souls nexus web page for proper PC playing, as it is a direct port from consoles, meaning no support for high res, no mouse and keyboard support, no higher res textures etc.

p.p.s. dont say nobody warned you! its very difficult, but so worth it
