stats kinda scare me

one thing i have always enjoyed about quake was the fact that your every action in-game is not recorded and shared publicaly with everybody else. back when i started, i wasent that great, and my poor stats would reflect that. in games like cod and battlefield, where the KDR is worshiped, a newb with a 1:10 ratio would be ragged pretty bad. now i think that everybody here isnt that shallow, but yet i fear the whole stat thing could become an avenue to hate on other players. SOMEBODY PUT ME AT EASE HERE.

Stats are there to highlight strengths and weaknesses,depending on how indepth they go.

Like weapon effeciency , type EFF in console and hit enter, either during the middle of a game or at the end of one, and lets say the Stats takes it 1 step further, and starts averaging ALL your game's EFF totals, and you started seeing

Lightning Gun : 35% of time used : overall efficiency 28%
Rocket Launcher : 40% of time used : overall efficiency 35%

just as a quick example, you could acknowledge HEY I could use more practice with LG because my rating is lower than it is with RL,

Thats a quick / very short sighted example, but the same can be applied to how proficient you are on certain maps because not knowing a map well is a huge disadvantage.

When you factor in all the tidbits of possibilities (CTF has tons of stats!!!!!) , nothing but good can from stats. Only an idiots who plans on having a short-term stay at Quakeone.com would be using the stats as a form of shit talk and drama starting ammunition.

impossible. We are the corner stone of what anyone calls a modern first person shooter.

Being apart of this community is epic broseph,and I hope you are a mainstay player, we need as many of those types as we can get.
