  • Quake 1 Team Fortress. Alive?

I haven't seen any posts or information regarding Team Fortress for Quake 1. I really love that game and am very curious if anyone still plays this? If you guys have information of what to download and where to go to start playing this, I would be highly thankful.

    thanks

Yeah, TeamFortress is still alive and can still be played most hours of the day, just not 24/7 like the old days, but pretty close.

One minute and I'll hook you up with downloads (the main site has dead download links, I'll gonna add to files here) ... takes FOREVER to download that stuff via QW auto-download.
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

Does it still use gamespy 3d to find the games?

You might be able to use GameSpy (download best version).

Most QW players either use the All Seeing Eye or EZQuake's in-game server browser.

        EZQuake http://ezquake.sourceforge.net

        All Seeing Eye http://videogames.yahoo.com/multiplayer

Download: Team Fortress 2.8 Installer or Team Fortress 2.8 Zipped

            Find and download Qtracker.

I haven't experimented with anything else besides gamespy (fucking crap) -- but Qtracker is a great server browser with very little fluff.

It will import a fairly solid list of quakeworld servers for you and there are a few that are generally packed all day and night long.

My personal favorite is the Prozak server. It has a map voting system and doesn't just play 2fort5 all fucking day.
