We're pretty lax here, but that rule was decided about a month ago.
Your freequake installer package does not work. Where's the first link that was edited? I was unable to burn Quake to my CD and I'm here on broadband...

IEEE, the new downloads system is probably to blame. I'll check it out an fix it. I've used it countless times myself, heh.
I knew there was something I forgot to update after the new system went online.
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.
So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...
IEEE, I just tried it and works fine. What problem are you having?

Hehe, I think someone who can't find one of the 25 sites with full Quake downloads really needs to learn more about the internet.
Must not be very good at using Google.

Part of the weirdness of Quake is that there are actually some major sites with links to downloads of Quake on the homepage. Not small sites either.
We don't want any of that here and have a policy against it, but it is also weird because there are illegal packages that openly have their own homepage/domain name and stuff.
The humor of this may have eluded you as it is sort of running joke in the Quake community that it is harder to find Quake sites without illegal downloads of Quake than sites that don't have one.
So when you read a little bit of humor in this, laugh at the irony :d :d

Oh no, kids getting Quake 1 from filesharing sites and make cheap copypasta Quake mods for the PSP - THIS MUST BE STOPPED!
Someone remembers this kid, installed Navy Seals on the PSP and sold it as "Counter-Strike PSP" - what a shame.
If you don't buy Quake you don't own it, just like any other game - but the difference is that for us Quake is like a playground, you can do everything on it - if you know how... you can't feel it when you didn't bought it.
