Windows 8/Q1 issues

I can't install the shareware version of quake. i just installed windows 8, backed up all my files from my windows 7 setup, but someone quake is the only thing that didn't transfer.

would someone be willing to send me their quake folder, with just the necessities if u don't want me to c all ur cheats and what not, like pak0 and config and all the dlls and what not...

Windows 8 is simply fail all around. I'm trying to figure out what demographic of users Microsoft is targeting with this iteration...seriously, I have no idea.

I can't see myself migrating to Win8 for any reason...

it was designed for their tablets and their new 'desktop&laptops' that will be touch screen. if my pc was a touch screen i would dig it... otherwise... its impractical

i did finally get to install... now it's just running sluggish. few kinks to work out but of course it's bedtime so It'll have to wait.

i find windows versions in odd itterations to be successfull no idea why...

Rev, update ur drivers. I know when I 1st got w7 my mouse was off, the networkmedia thing made the game choppy as hell...etc

yeah im dealing with super low fps, like 6 fps max... so im vga card driver updating driver and amd catalyst and see if their is some tinkering that needs to be done, if that doesnt do it, i'll run in compatbility mode.
