    has anybody ever made a player model replacement that has the player model wearing the bio-suit?

    I should really stop thinking about "real world logic" when thinking about Quake.

        I have never seen a bio-suit player model, but isn't the bio-suit basically an inanimate player model? Import it to blender and animate it bro. If you do that, I'll write the QC for ya to switch it in game.

          Bio-Hazard suits exist in the real world thing, thats why ;F.

          Compared to say, the Scrag which is an gravity-defying , flying, manueverable with almost ZERO moving limbs short of its tail.

            im no good with these things. i just wanted to know if some one had done it at some point.

                It's real world logic you're questioning though which is what is awesome.

                Devil is in the details as they say,and if you're wearing a Bio-Suit,it should be visible. then again,single player was probably 200% of the focus (you never see yourself) and multiplayer "a sweet addon" after the fact.

                  Hello syluxman,

                  Basically, what you want to do is to "glue" some oxygen cylinders to the back of your player model and make it follow its animations.

                  So in the end, it could look like this:



                  Call it "player_suit.mdl".
                  Then, similar to the players transformation into the "eyes.mdl" model, when picking up the hobbit ring, make him transform into the "player_suit.mdl".
                  That is it.
                  QC already helps you with it. Look into client.qc and find: "self.radsuit_finished" definition.
                  This will be your basic funtion to start with.
                  Copy the idea of "self.invisible_finished" code to complete this small mod.


                  If you do this step, you should of course also create additional player models with all the other powerups in use.

                  You always have nice ideas syluxman!

                    this is a totally sweet idea, and id love to see that in quake, that when you have biosuit it shows those the model with those tanks on the back

                      i like your thinking seven. the tanks look good! however, there is one more piece of equipment he would need: a mask/filtered helm.

                      as far as me making it, i have 0 experience when it comes to quake modding, and the little experience i do have is dabbling in map design. im sure somebody will see that and make it, and when that time comes, ill be glad!

                        I'm not a fan of the tank design (as is). The bio-suit allows you to enter slime. A tank isn't going to protect you from slime. It's a whole suit, It should be "modded" as a whole suit.

                        IMO, the best possible start is to animate the suit model - call it ver .3 (or something). Then start working on making the model better and release it as ver .6 Then make the texture better, tighten up the model and animations and release it as a finished ver 1.
