    Maybe this will work: http://www.quaketastic.com/upload/fi...ebrae_2010.zip

EDIT: Oops, I jumped the gun... sorry Seems it's for Win7. From the readme:

    Tenebrae 2010 - by MH
    ---------------------

This is just a straightforward recompile of Tenebrae to get it working on Windows 7. No compatibality settings needed.

It was tempting to go slashing at the code but all I did was modify the project for VCPP 2008 compatibility, fix a status bar crash bug, and
increase the console buffer size. There is still *MASSIVE* room for performance improvement in here.

Full source code an modified project included. You will still need the original Tenebrae PAK0.PAK to run the thing, and don't go
expecting all the nice robust features you would get from a modern engine. If you want to see clowns, the circus is here!

More digging found this: http://tenebrae.sourceforge.net/down...raeInstall.exe here: http://quakeone.com/forums/quake-tal...html#post67924 which included this: http://tenebrae.sourceforge.net/download.txt Along with this: Unofficial Tenebrae builds

      Hope that helps.

EDIT: It all worked for me! I used the "TenebraeInstall.exe" first, then unzipped MH's Win7 compiled "Tenebrae2010" into the directory and renamed accordingly. Of course an "id1" directory is there as well. I ran the "launcher and played.

I don't have a quick way to fire up my XP machine to test out the original executable but it should work I'd imagine! Goodluck.

Yes I have that archive in my collection. But this one is downloaded just now from the svn repository, it makes me think they are the latest versions. I may be wrong...

If I go through it for a while I may find a way to compile this, but I m sooo lazy...

How did you get the link??? On the tenebrae official page (http://tenebrae.sourceforge.net) no matter which link I click (on the left) it still shows the start page (and it always did, since the day I discovered the page...) Thank for it though!!

that engine hasnt been touched in over 10 years. Your best bet, if you want better gfx is to use DarkPlaces, or FTE. Both of those engines are still currently developed.

              You're welcome.

A lil' Googling and searchin' QuakeOne goes along ways Actually, sometimes Googling with "Qaukeone" in the search is EASIER than using the Quake One search function, jus' a tip!

I do use ParkPlaces I'm just such a [insert English expression here] I need to have everything I'm gathering a collection of Quake-related stuff for several years already (since I came back from the army a couple of years ago, to be true)

i wasnt bashing u dmg, inc i just thought because of his low post count he was just trying to get back into quake... and tenebrae would just be more headache...
u can also look on https://www.quaddicted.com/files/engines/ for more hard to find engines.

                      I gotcha's.

Sometimes it's cool to look over the outdated shizit, like reminiscing. I now remember when I first checked out Tenebrae the "WOW" factor was high! Today... meh, not so much hehe

Thanks, R00k. I tried mostly everything from that list, except for TyrQuake, since I'm DoomSick I have different engines of Quake collected, but I use mostly DarkPlaces and ezQuake. FTEQW is the one I used to play QuakeLife

I like Zquake, for older clients, but it needs polish...

                          DP is the modder's engine.
                          FTE is very good.
                          DirectQ is solid.

                          etc...
