I just noticed shmack + all ports are down, including quake.crmod.com

For the past two weeks Shmack has been very shakey. I haven't played in awhile - just started playing again over the last two weeks - so I don't know if Shmack has had this problem for awhile or not, but pings would jump for some players but not others (me included in the ones where ping would jump). At first I assumed it was on my end but a few other regulars said the same thing happened to them. Maybe the server was on the virge of taking a dive hah. Who knows.

What a coincidence. On the preceding evening a player called "Bot" who bore a striking similarity on many levels to Omi joined the server and proceeded to abuse and insult just about everyone on the server for no apparent reason. He stated that it was now his mission in life to kill the mod and the server permanently. I suspect that like me most ppl on the server had heard this kind of tedious immature rhetoric many times before and simply ignored him. The guy could certainly play but with his appalling attitude and a well known lack of any admins on Shmack almost everyone either went obs or afk'd.
Just for the record, I'm not moaning about it or anything and it's probably completely unconnected but I just thought I would mention it in case the information is of use to Slot/Whoever.
Fortunately the RQ'rs found another home and we had some fun games last night [despite my ping ]
