  • Quake 1 music in MP3 format

Is there any legit file download links for Quake 1 music files in MP3 format?

I know there is tons of ogg and image file sources around forums, but MP3 is more widely supported for the various Quake 1 sourceports and the file sizes tend be a lot smaller.

Also, I tried converting the ogg files myself, but all the free ogg -> mp3 converter programs I tried gave me problems and I don't have access to a decent converter program or even the proper knowledge to convert them properly.

Anyways, I'm probably not alone on this desire, so I thought maybe if the Quakeone community could provide a zip file with just only the MP3 files that would be great.

Audacity will convert them just fine, I just did it.

File>Open>"search for the .ogg's">then Export>MP3>Choose location to save!
    - damage_
Name's damage_inc, and killing is my business. Don't worry though, it's nothing personal! Oh wait... maybe it is

id recommend format factory for doing that instead.

audicity is great for if you wanna edit files too. which is what i use audacity for.
if you dun wanna edit the sound, use format factory, way easier and converts to tons of file-types

and it does music, videos and textures

and you can just drop in a whole bunch of files at once instead of having to open and save them one by one

      Format Factory
      .
are you curious about what all there is out there in terms of HD content for quake?

everything that is out there for quake and both mission-packs, compiled into one massive thread

iTunes can import OGG files and then convert them. Depending on the version you might need a plugin.

I guess that would be somewhat copyright infringing. I know that my idea is a bit antiquated, but why not buy the game and get the soundtrack from the CD?

You can usually find a CD of the game cheap on eBay...
