    Hi,

I don't normally log in to post things, but this has been troubling me since I found out about it a couple days ago. It's kind of a strange feeling.

I just wanted to thank you for posting this because I'm sure it is a difficult thing to think about in the first place, but I really appreciate being informed of these sad events.

Over the years, I played a heck of a lot of games with l33t. Being very close in age, we were kind of around at the same time. Sort of the same situation as me and ramp. We all grew up playing this game together as youngins' and now we're all adults. I'm not going to pretend I had forged a super close relationship or anything, but we spent hours on end playing this game together regardless.

I have always had a great deal of respect for l33t as a player and a person and I am very saddened to hear of this tragedy. I have used a lot of time online creating this online persona of a shit talker, mean spirited person, but in the end it was all just for fun. Circumstances like this really put things in perspective and are revealing my true character. I always got along great with l33t but I'm sure other people who have played games with me might wonder where this version of me has been the past 16 years.

I really just want to give my condolences to the family and those who are greatly affected by this loss. I want to sincerely thank his brother for making us aware. While I may not have met him in real life, it still feels like I lost a real friend. I wish the best to the family and I hope that we all never forget him. For the old school q1 players who have been playing a long time, I know we will not, but it's easy for the past to slip the mind.

Rest in peace. Gone but not forgotten.

    Dave

I will miss l33t dearly. This is a huge loss for the Quake community. He was such an upbeat, funny guy. I remember how we always joked about him getting wifed and not being able to play quake. Or I would crack jokes about how he was neglecting his kids whenever he played Quake with us. He never ceased to amuse me with his antics and he was a talented player. I have asked about him on and off for a little under a year now and never got a response as to where he went until now. There are quite a few players in Quake but l33t was always very memorable to me. RIP James "l33t".

again i appreciate the kind words. i know he was apart of the quake community since he was like 10, and knew that his absence would eventually come up with the ppl he has played with for years.

Yea,there are quite often posts made with "Wonder what happened to ..." and "Players that are MIA" oriented subjects. Thanks again for keeping his extended Quake Familia in the know, we appreciate it.

I'm truly fucking heartbroken by this man.

He was my friend for quite a while. He got married and had other things going on so we lost touch, but man. He was a friend.

I'm sorry for your loss, scipio.

                RIP James Joseph Kelly.

I've actually known L33T together with Sting and Azure from Bogo when I first joined their clan in my first week of CA back in like 99/2000.. he was always a very nice guy and not very talkative but originally in CA he was one of the better players, and he was also quite formidable in CTF as well! We can only remember him as far as Quake unfortunately, but great guy nonetheless.
                  Yep.

You, L33T, Prox, ODB, Myself, Azure, Souless, a few others I can't entirely recall...

                  Big loss.

my dad's old high school friend always loved to play gta vice city. he particularly loved to drive the motorcycle, and said that he would buy one. my father told him he would kill himself on the thing. he did.
