Can't you just wait until it starts closing, and then run across?

Nah it resets every-time. Tried jumping over the trigger too. Anyway I got passed it and I know how to walk much faster now. Diagonally.

Even if you wait until it's about half way closed? This is how it works in PC quake. Weird if that got changed in the port.
