If I had to describe this map with one word it would be: challenge. Thats no wonder because the author is speedrunner Justin Fleck, so be prepared
The architecture/visuals are solid but the maps strongest point is the gameplay: fiends leaping out of dark corners, teleporting monsters when you really dont need them and a final battle thats pure Quake carnage.
Despite the difficulty its a very fun map, so give it a try !

I just played this, it was some mindless fun, but I never really felt threatened or in any real danger. I used skill normal.

I think I might have played this map once, just based on that the ending seemed very familiar.

I agree with Baker. Although the end battle was pretty cool (i played on skill 2)

It was a pretty good map. Only flaw was the RL came till way late and there wasn't enough ammo. So I'd give it an 8.5/10 experiance.

            Baker/Sajt: demos?
I find the first room quite tough, 1 vore, 4 ogres, 4 knights, 1 fiend, always freaks me out how much noise a few ogres can make, and the end is definitly heavy stuff, also the jump to secret is not easy imo.

Sure RL is more fun, but if you give it too early the map is basically over(same goes for GL), just too powerful for them poor minions

I play single player cautiously. I round a corner, get the horde to stand single file and lob some grenades at them.

I am the opposite of a speed runner in single player, and I'd be boring as hell to watch.

My favorite single player maps are the ones where I encounter an incredibly complicated situation and have like 25 health and need to figure out a way to deal with the scenario. I often pause the game and ponder the situation. Heheh.

So, in a way, this is kind of opposite of my usual taste in maps.

HOWEVER, that being said, this map looks ideally suited for those into speedrunning style of play. Although I am not into playing that way, I do enjoy watching a good demo of some impressive tricks in speedrunning -- so it's not like I can't relate or anything.

              We all have different preferences.

2:08 is the record. Someone beat it. It's not hard. I had a few Ogres blocking my path.

                took me 4 tries

edit: btw, anyone who figures out a way to drop or get by the ogre blocking the gold key can share the strategy with me Other than that spot, I never stopped hopping

edit2: now that I think about it, when did I ever need the silver key?

                  What difficulty level ?
                  16:03:04 <gb> when I put in a sng, I think I might need nails
16:03:30 <gb> the fact that only playtesting tells me that probably means that my mind is a sieve

whichever one has 105 monsters I think it was Normal Difficulty. Whichever is default after turning on ProQuake

Unless otherwise specified by a command line parameter or a skill selection map, or the cvar, everything is skill 1 aka normal, so yup, normal.

Same here, but only the first time, because I find it very satisfying beating a map in the first run without saves, love the tension playing that way.

@Canadian*Sniper: cool stuff, though it would be nicer to see a demo, Im more of a max demo type myself, just cant stand the thought I left something alive (I have one skill 3 in 11 min but its crappy)

if people really want a demo then I'll make one, but I don't like to hassle myself if people RESPOND TO A DEMO THAT THEY HAVNT WATCHED. hehe (points at 2 admins )

I'll make a demo next time I try to beat my bad time. but really, where do I use the silver key?! that's like 30 seconds right there
