the time record might be scratched. it seems I forgot thtt it was on normal :d but anyways who ever can beat E3M3 with only a axe should set the Record.

plus I know the tatic. much easyer to hear me talk.

I'll make a demo of what I can accomplish

Not bad. Using some of your tactics (SNG ogre, avoid lava fiend) I was just able to get to the button near the final lava pool, in the final area. Skill 2 of course.

At the 2nd MH where you had problems in your first demo, it's pretty easy to make the knight and ogre infight (get the ogre in between you and the knight when he fires his projectiles.) If you do it right you can then pass the knight. Get the SK, open the door and dodge the fiend (possibly creating more infighting.) You can pass the knight that did you in when he's at the corner, not in the corridor.

In the final area, I axed the blocking ogre but then realized that he was hit by some scrags, thus he turned away, I ran past, jumped and hit the button. His friends did me in though.

Should be possible to jump from the top of the final area straight to the lowest level, too. IIRC the lava is shallow enough to not drown.

pretty impossible, yes. :-) I think if anyone makes it, infighting is the key. Lots of luck involved though.

Edit: Here is the corresponding demo from the Quake done Chopped project. Needless to say, it's pretty interesting (although only skill 0.) Cool slope jump, good handling of the lava situation (no need to press both buttons?)

this reminds me of beating Facility in under 2:05 in 00 Agent mode to get the Invincibility cheat.

I just ran the map in 1.01 minutes on easy difficulty.

I've gotten 1:02, axing the knight at the 2nd MH and monsters cooperated nicely.

I hope this time the link works; Shub-Hub doesn't work for me :-( It's full of suckage though. I reckon it's possible to get under 0:50 with this route (if you're a better player), and well under 0:30 with the grenadejump route (sda guys...?)

I'd like to see a speedrunner do this, so I have a reason to feel unworthy.

Canadian Sniper, go do this on hard already =)

btw I erred above, Quake done Chopped also killed all monsters except zombies. Their time is 1:27 IIRC.

-> Baker was right when he said this could be done in under a minute on easy.

-> OP's claim of 1:21 on hard (or even normal) remains to be proven.

Nice! I had a shortcut at the lava but yours was even better (I only pressed 1 squisher button, you press neither. I'm not sure why I didn't think of 0.)

IIRC that came from QdC.

I get stuck on the middle button platform there and I was afraid to fall into the lava, so I didn't do more jumping.

On skill 2 it's pretty much luck dependent, if it's even possible. You can probably reach the final switch, using infighting to your advantage, but getting away from there ... I think they'd trap you in there and without real weapons it'll be hard.
