I love how people DM guys get banned for "poaching" CA players. But when Ctf players poach a CA game, no bans are handed out. Why? because a majority of CA players are also CTF players. But it's perfectly fine for a CA game of 4v4 dwindle down to a 1v1v1 as long as it's to play CTF.


But God forbid a 4v4 CA game dwindle as a result of a DM game.

I'm not saying that in either situation, should a ban be the result, but that those that are claiming an injustice is being done, should look at it objectively.

Soltuion: say there is a CA server full of people, and someone notices they have a solid group of ppl down for a different mod, (dm or ctf or any other mod), the one guy that notices it, says it one time "looks like we got enough for -insert mod here-, i'll be -insert mod's server addy-" then they leave and wait it out. If no one joins, then they go back and play CA, if others join then, that's what the majority wants to play. That's as square as it can be. Repeated asking or begging (which is usually the case) should then get a mute, then a ban if it persists.

May I point out I simply connected to ny.quakeitup.com to play. You, mindz, finn and mono were playing 2-2. I waited and did not cc nor did i say anything but "yo." Mindz was the one who wanted to ctf, mono thought it was a good idea and so didnt finn. I said I'd play. Then we went to another ca game of 2-2-1, when that finished everyone went to ctf like they wanted. Mindz actually quit the game after we wouldnt put mode into public ctf "connect & play." So no one in fact connected with the intent to poach players from a ca game. It was in fact the players of said game who decided they want to ctf.

So unlike said bans at ca for dm'ers, no one connected to have players shift mods, which it seems like everyone was bitching about a couple days ago. I actually knowingly did not ask anyone to ctf during ca game or even after it because of the bitch fest that went down the other day.

And that is your opinion. I personally dislike CTF, but will play it because i try and be fair to other's who want to play the MOD.

Now on the DS Double Standard note:

Truthfully no one should get banned for requesting a DM game or CTF or any mod of that nature, People will leave or stay if they choose to play or not.
If someone connect's and repeatedly say's let's go DM or CTF, and an admin is on they can always politely ask them to quit because obviously NO ONE is wanting to go play that specific mod being requested. If they refuse to quit, especially on a CA server, hit the damn ADMIN-MUTE > PLAYER > muted beotch! command and get it over with. There is no reason to ban for requesting another MOD. Do i think crow was wrong for banning those rail roading the server for players? Yes. Do i agree with the player's rail roading the server for players for their mod? No. But they have a right to come and ask, and if none choose to leave then so be it, But if there is a GAME in progress and someone shows up to ask, and i was on server, i'd be pretty pissed off if someone comes in and says "HEY DM OR CTF" and we have a 3v3 or something of that nature and 2-3 guys just disconnect.. Oh yeah i'd be pissed. Respect is a mother fucker to come by, and some on the game do not have respect. Player > enters server > game in progress > STFU until match is over > ask players if they want to go to your mod... > nuff said.

Maybe r00k can stop all MM1 messages from OBSERVER's while a match is in progress, maybe this would stop the bullshit? When the match ENDS it will free the observers to use mm1 until another match begins then block them out.

However this is absolutely not what happened in rev's case. It was in fact his own players that were in the 2-2 that decided on ctf. I didnt say a peep other then i was interested and that was after it was brought up by 3 out of the 4 players in the 2-2. So completely different case in rev's argument. Pretty much he dont ctf and is mad his game got ended early.

I dont think bans for poaching is the actual reason as it might just be someone connecting and excessively spamming mm1 while a game is ongoing. I havent banned anyone in years, usually a mute will stop them enough.

right before all u fuktards left immediately I tried saying that there is real chance I would be going to bed before a 20minute game would be overwith and since by the time I finished my sentences NO ONE WAS EVEN FUCKING THERE TO READ MY MESSAGES, no one heard me. I had every intention on staying to play CA 1v1 against Rev, but I was left in empty server talking to myself.


For the record, I should never have lifted my refusal to play Matchmode CTF anymore. Count me out from now on, I'm back to boycotting 20minute Quake "." unless its my choice to go play that shit don't fn ask the answer is no.

Rambo is right, and i didn't say you specifically poached. i was just aggravated that anytime we get close to a good 3v3 or 4v4 CA game, someone has to "HEY WE GOT CTF'ERS!" "hey we got enough for 2v2 tdm!" if that's what everyone wants to do, fine. I'm all for freedom of quake (to a point) but atleast give those of us that have been waiting on the server for 2 hours for a decent sized game the satisfaction of playing a 3v3 or 4v4 CA game before bolting to your mod where i don't rape you all at.

Y'all are gonna fuck around and make me play CTF and start raping that shit too, then where u gonna run too? runequake? or under Tal's polka-dot skirt?
