That would be best done by KGB|Romi, if you mean composing rtlights files with the ingame DarkPlaces editor. I have very little experience editing them myself.

I would like to learn, just for the sake of relighting some user maps to see how they work with them.

Yeah I hate that too. Like when theres 20 players and someone has to go vote for e1m7, start, or dm4. Even though I would probably win anyway, I still leave if the vote wins. It is really hard to win those kind of matches with a really small level.

Just a small note about user profiles: I've set up the "shortcut" to link to users' profiles. All you have to do is type

http://users.quakeone.com/Solecord

and it'll link to my profile. A little change comes for users with spaces in their names. In order to link to a profile that has spaces in the name you'll have to use a + sign in place of the spaces:

http://users.quakeone.com/Yellow+No.+5

And some profiles like Candian*Sniper's will be displayed on the site with some gobbily gook in place of the *

http://users.quakeone.com/Canadian%2ASniper

but that's just a technicallity. You can still type in

http://users.quakeone.com/Canadian*Sniper

and it'll work. There may be some other special characters that won't work by typing in. You'll have to use the special goobily gook codes to make it work. No way around that.
