Notes: There are many improvements on the original DKEEP design in this new release.
I think the changes are for the better, although you will notice that some scores were lowered due to those changes. That can't really be avoided in the case of the item & respawn fields. Since the upper respawn (which was a huge problem in the first draft) was removed, the lower respawn had to be made to accomodate more players, therefore more packs. But the extra packs don't really go over the top, they are still only giving out 1 of each type grenade. I also miss the ledges and rails from the first draft, as well as some of the crates. That sort of interior detail is always a great deal of fun to defence squads.
The rest of this map has benifited from some great new changes. The flag position is excellent, I had thought of doing that sort of thing in my first map, but I never did. The flag run is now a great deal more interesting and a great deal less treacherous. Although you will note that the rooftop is a great place to roam, many defences could be improvised in some very dark and moody areas. The overall ambience of the map didn't change too much, the author definitely worked with the lights a great deal more, to give us some nice shadows to play in. It takes some getting used to, but isn't that part of the fun of playing something other than the usual?
Slime, now that is something we don't see often in TF maps, in this case it is not overkill, since the slime area is not too deep or wide. It will be great fun tossing people into it and watch them scream.
I will be waiting for this map to pop up on servers and really look forward to playing it.
