Constructing A State Prison
In Under 5 Minutes
August 8, 1999 8:00 PM I was playing a pickup game of 2fort on one
of the public servers. After grabbing the flag as a spy, I ran across
the bridge with a disgruntled engineer behind me. I could almost smell
the cheap cigar he was chewing on as I outran him. I was almost past
the bridge when our sniper shot me taking out my armor. Like the wonderful
"team players" my teammates were, they started making my job as difficult
as possible. Realizing that I was about to die with a flag in my possesion,
they followed me like hungry vultures, waiting for the chance to feast
in my death. They followed me without EVER attacking the engineer
and even blocked my path sometimes. Needless to say, the disgruntled
engineer finally got me while I was busy swearing at my selfish teammates.
The sniper who first shot me grabbed the flag and made for the capture
which brought his record from 0/5 to 10/5. I started bragging about
his "mad skillz" and how good he was. Needless to say, I got pissed
and started plotting how to get revenge. August 8th, 1999 8:04 PM
I finally figured out the perfect way to get revenge... We are all
probably familiar with the spy's unfeinting problem. If he unfeins
with someone on him, they both r stuck and unmovable. Well, I stopped
outside our respawn door and feinted. When one of our HWGs rambled
over me, I stood up. We were now glued to the floor blocking the only
exit out of the resupply room! August 8th, 1999 8:05 PM My team is
now stacked up in the resupply room trying everything they can to
get me and the unfortunate HWG on top of me to move out of the way.
They shot me, tried to rocket jump over me, and even resorted to killing
themselves hoping to respawn in the battlements respawn room. I got
a few cheap laughs at a couple of the attempts to break out of the
Respawn Room Prison which ranged from MIRV jumping out to ramming
me as an HWG. The map finally switched to Well so I couldn't block
our teams resupply room, but it sure as hell was fun to mess my team
up.

Must Be An Newbie
I was playing a plain old 2Fort (TFC) disguised as enemy engineer.
I infiltrated through water and snuck up to the top of the spiral.
it was laced with pipes and like 3 Hw guys who were clan so I figure
there would be no grab and run. I was to go down to flag area and
recon. I got to bottom of spiral and a medic was right there. I brushed
against him and he thought he infected me. I figured that the gig
was up so I took off for flag room. Guarding was another HW. I snagged,
the flag ran to elevator, dropped flag and ammo, and feigned like
the medic finally got me. The HW guy comes to check on me, when he
does he activates the elevator. Then the dummy, seeing my corpse turns
around. I get up quick, gut him, grab flag and get off at the top
(I couldn't do all that again in a million years) I dropped flag and
changed to HW figuring that he would come back to see what happened.
Well he did, I say " I got it covered" he says "watch for spies"(no
$h!T, really) looking RIGHT at me. Then he turns his back and guards
the door. I can't resist so I slice him again, grab the flag and take
off. This guy respawns and frantically types "spi sptspy spu"the message
must have got through because the whole team takes off through the
trail of LSD grenades I left through the lobby and out the front door.
Spamming? no. deception? Yes, I was via water access to safety. Meanwhile
5 or 6 enemies ran into a pile of pipes and mirvs that a teammate
of mine had waiting outside their door, BOOM.

The Great Discard Trick
I was playing TFC one time in Well and i was on the red team. So i
sneak into blue base disguised as blue sniper, and i go to the sniper
deck and they only have 1 sniper there! So i get behind him and throw
him a backpack in front of him, he looks at it then picks it up. Then
SLASH SLASH, i back-stabbed him i told him the backpack was there
for distraction so i could knife him, he said it was a good trick.
I decided to goto another TFCserver it was running Rock2, and had
low gravity(100 gravity), and im playing on blue team. So one of my
team members get the red key but a HWGuy kills him, and the red key
is in the yard. So i stand by the HWGuy, then i toss a backpack to
him, but since of low gravity it flys to the other side of the yard!
Well he actually goes and picks it up, and when he went to get it,
i grabbed the key and headed for the gas chamber. And i gassed the
enemy team. And i told that red HWGuy that backpack was for a distraction,
he also said it was a pretty good trick!

NEW - HWGuy Deception
I was playing TFC on the map well one day. I was disgused as a red
medic (blue spy) and I had made my way up to the flag room where an
red HW guy awaited. I knew I couldnt stand up to his machine gun.
My team had stolen it before I got there, so I waited for it to come
back and then I sprayed my logo of a spy on the wall. Then the HWGuy
spray's his logo. I said to him "nice logo", he replies "thanks!".
After a few minutes the flag reappered, catching him off gaurd I said
to him "thanks i gotta go i gotta steal you flag now!". I then grabbed
the flag and took the water exit and managed to cap the flag unharmed.
As soon as I capped the flag, the HWGuy yelled "You Tricked Me!!"

The Streak
It started out like any other game, I was playing as a blue spy and
I headed for the water. While in the water, I disguised myself as
a red soldier. As I crawled up the enemy�s spiral I saw a soldier
looking right at me. �Oh no�, I thought. He would kill me for sure.
He walked away. He thought I was on his team, even though I came up
through the spiral dressed as a soldier! He was guarding the ceiling
grate from another dumbass spy that ran in without disguise and spammed
gas. I got up behind him and tranqed him three times. He started shooting
a rocket every once in a while, but I blew him away with my shotgun
pretty quick. I headed for the ramp room, and it was guarded by no
one. So I decided to see what was up with the flag. I went down and
to my surprise there was no one guarding the flag. Hmm...a team has
16 players and not one is guarding the flag. Now that�s poor team
organization. But wait - here comes an engineer! He thinks I�m on
his team and goes into the flag room. I follow him. He starts building
a sentry gun, so I go back out and hide in the long hallway that leads
to the flag. I wait a couple of minutes and he comes back, builds
a dispenser and upgrades his gun. It is now a level 3 sentry. I am
about to grenade him when...what!? My team is stealing the flag!!!
The engineer chases him, and the sentry gun nips him a little but
the rocket it shoots hits the engineer. The engineer is now 4 bloody
polygons on the floor. I destroy his sentry and use his dispenser
:-). I go back up and head for the sniper deck. There are 6 snipers!
I have 2 grenades left. So I ass-knife the first one, the second one
I knife, but he is pushed into the water, so I toast him. The four
remaining are separated into 2 groups, so I prime two grenades and
kill four snipers. My frag count is now at 7 in the first 4 minutes
of the game. I have 2 gas grenades left , so I decide to gas the respawn
room. Uh-oh! The snipers came back! I am shot and down to 17 health,
so I jump of the sniper deck and into the water. Hmm...no toasters.
As I swim to my base, I am perforated by a nail. Now I am down to
3 health. I turn around and see 2 combat medics and 1 sniper chasing
me! So what I do is, since I didn�t use my grappling hook, I toss
a toaster and grapple the underside of the bridge. Add three frags
to my score which is now 10 in the first 5 minutes of play. I get
up to my base, and run up the spiral, only to see a grinning red sniper
waiting for me. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted!!!

The Guy named "I
Doc"
I was playing Well (TFC) one day, where my job was to keep the enemy
sniper deck clear. There was one sniper on the enemy team named "I
Doc" who was a pretty good shot but was woefully inept at stopping
spies. It took him five kills to realize that maybe should try to
find me (I was feigned in a corner). So he changes to a soldier and
goes up. He sees my body and shoots it, and I go flying across the
room, badly wounded but alive. To my surprise, instead of finishing
me off he goes back to firing rockets out the sniper deck. It wasn't
long till I had another frag:). He tries being a HW, Medic, and Demo,
and still cant get me. I mean it was hilarious, we had shotgun fights,
nailgun bouts, grenade tosses, heck I even got him when he tried to
stop our flag runner (you should of heard the language he was using
at the end of this;). And the sad thing about this was that I had
just started in my spying career so I made a lot of mistakes that
should have had me down for the count. In the end, I got 23 (yes that
is twenty three!) kills off this guy, and needless to say he wasn't
there for the next level.

The Spy and The Demoman
I was playing on well6 and I changed to a red sniper (I was a blue
spy) and made his way to the sniper deck. I then called upon a demo
man to make his way to the outside of their base, under the sniper
deck and be ready to lob in a MIRV grenade on his mark! The spy proceeded
to empty his four gas grenades across the sniper deck and then gave
the signal, the demo man received it and proceeded to side step along
outside whilst throwing in MIRV's. Although the spy received no frags
the demo man clocked up 5 of them. Not only did the demo man want
to stick close to the spy in case of another opportunity like that
one the blue team were given enough cover to steal the flag.

Gassing the Battlements
I was playing on 2fort (on the red team) and my team were having a
hard time getting into the enemy base due to the amount of snipers
and soldiers on the battlements. Anyway I decide to leave the defensive
work and go help my team mates clear the battlements. I disguise myself
as a blue sniper and creep into their base, clearing out any spare
sentry guns on the way, but when I reach their battlements it look's
like their whole team is there! I decide this needs to be put right
and send a message to my team to attack on my call, this is the fun
part. I prime a gas grenade and then lobbed it into the crowd, no
escape! the team quickly suspect something so start shooting each
other, along with their other hallucinations, I then lob in three
normal grenades which no one takes any notice of and success, 8 kills
at once my new record! The funny thing is most of them came back to
taste my cold steel blade again and again!

Run-by Accidental Shooting
I was playing on 2fort, and was leaving the upper
respawn area to go to the enemy base, when I ran into an enemy spy.
He quickly knifed me, then changed classes. Meanwhile, I had respawned
in the upper room again, so I ran outside with the intention of getting
the spy who had killed me. As I stepped out, I saw a medic from my
team and a demoman from my team running up the stairs. I decided the
medic was the spy, pulled out my tranq gun, and took aim. At the last
second, the medic dodged, and my tranq hit the demoman. The demoman
died! He had been the spy, and I had missed my target, but hit my
goal!

Parranoia
Playing a spy on bam4 i ran into their base disguised
as a blue soldier, using the tap run method.. there was 1 soldier/1
demo in the main foyer area... snuck up stabbed em both.... ran into
gren room stacked up .. disguised again as a blue engineer drooped
down elevator wiped out the 2 sgs in basement... there was a group
of 3 players (eng , sold , demo) standing there :).... one gas gren
and one normal gren pop all dead.... ran in flag room grened the sg
took flag and ran.... got to tops of stairs where stood 2 soldiers
and a demo... tranqed one soldier and the demo... gas spammed then
died.... Came back as a blue sniper.... waited patiently for the soldiers
to turn around stabbed em... took flag but got cuaght by demo....
After about 20 mins of killing there sg's they got paranoid... shooting
each others until they got a scout to go in defense to check for spys.

Defensive uses for the Spy
In my first game spying in TFC (in 2fort), I naturally
started by repeatedly infiltrating the enemy base to kill snipers.
I had pretty good sucess, but I realized I wasn't doing a whole lot
of good to the team. So, I disguised as a pyro of my own team (blue),
and guarded at the main entrance to my base. Three enemy (red) soldiers
came in and quickly overran me. I did a discard/feign, and the enemies
continued past me in "triumph." I leaped up and quickly slashed with
the knife once, twice, three times . . . two kills, but the third
had started to turn towards me. So I only got a side slash, not killing
him. Much to my relief, then the grenade went off, and it was all
over. I've rarely infiltrated since; the spy is a fantastic defender,
feigning death when overrun and stabbing the invaders in the back
when they continue.

Stupid Spy
I was an engineer in the 2forts map working on building
a sentry in the corner opposite the ramp room and opposite my supply
room. As I was running from the supply room to the sentry to upgrade
it to a level 3, I noticed a medic hanging around the general area.
I ignored him and kept on working. All this time I was thinking "I
guess he wants to heal players as they come by." I started to load
my level 3 with ammo when "thunk!" I hear the sound of a dagger hitting
me. "That damn medic's a spy!" I thought to myself. Before I had a
chance to whip out my shotgun, my sentry started tracking the now
cover-blown spy. As I turn around, my sentry mows me down because
I'm in between the sentry and the spy. As I lay dead, I watch this
dude back into the door of my team's supply room and my sentry gibs
him into bits.The moral of this story: If you're spying, grenade,
gas, but DONT SHOOT/KNIFE a engineer working on a sentry!

Stupid Team-Mates
I was playing a spy in the well...I take the water
route all the way to the base...never get noticed......jump out, run
in the enemy base...run up to the sniper deck..take out a sniper and
take the lift up to the resupply area behind the flag room...one of
my soldier teammates is there...and he does the appropriate "all ammo"
spy check (unloading every bit of ammo into you before he realizes
you are on his team)...I mean..he empties what must be 20 rockets
(no exaggeration here, either) at me, then switches to the shot gun
and evidently unloads everything he has...all the while I'm like "I'm
on your team", "stop shooting, I'm a spy for your team", etc. And,
to cap it off, I am standing absolutely still, except for when I'm
flying through the air because of rockets...so, he runs out of ammo...runs
around, and reloads..I AM NOT KIDDING...and it starts all over again...at
one point, I feign and type "Are you happy, I'm dead now"...wait 10
secs (during which he stops shooting)...jump up...and he starts in
again...seriously...now I start to curse this idiot...I mean...what
am I..the invincible spy?????...Finally...and I do mean finally...because,
I can't get to the lift or jump down the hole...everytime I got near
either...I got a rocket massage...anyways, finally, an enemy engineer
hears the ruckus and comes down...needless to say...the soldier stopped
shooting me...but then again...the engineer started :)

Mind Games
I was playing on Rock and had infiltrated the Red base
as an Engineer. I was preparing an assault by destroying a sentry
in the Gas Chamber. There was this Engineer upgrading his gun. I stabbed
him and destroyed his gun. The assault was successful. The next time
I did the same. It worked also the next time. That made the fellow
completely paranoid. He ran all over their base beating everyone with
his wrench. I had to change my class because it wasn't safe anymore.
Anyway his team got the admin to kick him out pretty quickly...

Unsuspecting Players
I was on the Blue Team in the Well and had just switched
from Soldier to Spy (so the other team still thinks I'm a Soldier).
I switched skins to soldier and ran out to the center. I dropped into
the water that led to the enemy base and switched from Blue Soldier
to Red Medic. Medics are the only units that can walk up to a player
without raising suspition, so I figured it was a good choice and I
was right. I kept going around outside and inside the Red base, and
I kept killing the buggers. Ha! Ha! Fragfest!!! I netted at least
9 kills from that then decided to make myself useful, I switched to
Red Sniper and sat myself near the enemy flag, aiming into the water.
I told my team I was there, but the odd guy would shoot me. I kept
letting Engineers come in, build their guns and leave, and everytime,
I would grenade the gun, grab the flag, and swim to my base. I did
it 4 times before they caught on! HA! HA! HA! (he laughed menacingly)
After that, when I got back, I found an HWGuy and a Soldier guarding
the flag (they had obviously figured it out). I knifed the Soldier
(I don't consider the HWGuy much of a threat with how slow they are,
plus it was firing from the oposite side of the room so it didn't
hit me much). I dropped two grenades into the flag room, killed the
Engineer and the gun (what a shame for the engineer, must of been
a real big pain since it was level 3 and it would of took sooo long
for him to build it up) and jumped into the water to find the HWGuy
had jumped in and been waiting for me!
There went my streak of 4 captures.

Never trust a medic
I was playing TFC on the 2fort map and was just standing outside the
blue flag room disguised as an blue engineer. With only have about
10 health left after a really difficult run from my base. I was preparing
to take the flag the only thing between me and
the flag is a blue soldier who was inside guarding the flag.
Not taking any chances I lob my last 2 grenades into the room.
I then run and hide by the resupply room. I can tell I have hurt the
soldier, but he's not dead. Deciding what to do next, I tell myself
"well its a major longshot, but what the heck!" I quickly change to
a blue medic and then run backwards into the flag room pretending
as if i'm preparing to help him guard the flag.
I can't believe he falls for my deception - he yells "MEDIC!!"
Well how could I turn him down - that would be in violation of the
Hipocratic oath, right? I run up behind him, take out my trusty knife,
AND... well, you know the rest of the story.

Threesome in the Flag
room
Ok, I was red spy on 2fort making my way for blue flag room. I have
killed 3 snipers and a sentry, so the base is on alert. I figured
I would lay low in the flag room, if thats possible. I walk in and
I see big trouble. A HWGuy and a Soldier, I disguised as a pyro so
I would fit in.
I am waiting for the situation to change to allow me to kill one and
maybe get the flag out.
Right about then the HWGuy leaves as if he is just going to check
on whats happening in the hallway. I run over to the soldier and knife
him in the head, again, again... .hmmm...
Then he knifes me back...
"WHAT!? Soldiers don't have knives!"
He was a spy on the same team!
We kinda did that cheap TV comedy "look at each other" look at the
other guy look back, then we took action. We ran over the the unsuspecting
HWG and started stabbing him the head, he wouldn't die. "No.......way......this
aint possible.."
Guess why he didn't die.......

Ping Pong Spy
I was on Well6 on the Blue Team.
I see this sniper on the our roof, so I start heading over the roof,
with the intent of heading to kill the sniper on our roof.
When an emeny medic came at me with his axe charged with the intent
to heal his teamate. I was like *SHEET* I run to the lift
He and started crying "Theres a SPY on the emeny roof" whilst
chasing me up the lift. I start heading over to the sniper pre-paring
my knife, when the emeny medic through a concussion grenade at me.
Meanwhile the sniper had heard the medic's alert's and had allready
started priming a grenade, the sniper also thre the grenade at me,
they both hit at the same time and I was flung all
the way over middle section and smack against the enemy sniperdeck
window.
I was stuck in the window, I looked around
wondering what happend, I looked in the window and see a sniper rifle
barrel poking me in the eye. The sniper was zoomed in so he had no
idea what happened. He zoomed out, and saw me, he charged his rifle.
With only 1 health remaining I primed and threw a grenade at him,
but it didn't release. (Damn Sticky Grens)
The Sniper Fires the rifle...
It tossed me all the way back to my bridge, where then my body was
blown up back into the air by a by my own sticky grenade.
People showeed me pics and it actually looked like PING PONG!

Here is a story for ya. One time I was playing some
REALLY stupid kids. I mean really stupid. So I feigned in the middle
of the main room in 2fort4. They were looking at me, and one guy shot
me. But they left after a second. So in a couple of minutes I started
jumping up and down (still feigning) and the engineer watching said
"does anyone see that dead body?" So I got up, blew his
sentry gun and darted him. Then knifed him the the back. I almost
pissed in my pants it was soooo funny. He had no idea what happened.

I was playing spy in a pickup game one time where
one of my team's Medics was wreaking havoc amongst the enemy defenders.
This was especially bad since the enemy had no medic of thier own!!!
So what does this have to do with spying?? I changed my name and yell
out, "Ok red team I will change to medic, meet me in upper resupply
to be cured." then changed my skin to medic and waited a minute...
sure enough when i ran up there about 10 diseased enemies where waiting
for me, so i just primed a grenade and ran into the middle of them,
got 7 kills with one grenade!!! I got a hell of a gloat out of that
one!

One time I was cruising around enemy base, and somehow
I got infected. Well, I was at 90 health and like 80 armor, so I was
goign to last a bit....ao I ran around as an enemy Medic... Heh. Renegade
Medic, anyone?

I was playing spy vs spy against my friend DemiGod
on a Rock 2 server. We decided (since it was 1 on 1) to keep the battle
in his base. I made my way into the sewers under his shower area and
told him to go over there. He knew I was going to try and trap him,
so he stopped in front of the grate, shot it open, and got ready to
toss some gas in there. I jumped out while he was charging the grenade,
and it bounced off me and right into him! While he was choking on
the gas, I nailed him to
death. A bit later, the samw thing happened, except this time he jumped
into the sewers. We both started tossing gas and before long we were
both near death and stoned, and trying to make it across the cat walk.
I made it first, then tossed a grenade at him, which exploded just
close
enough to knock him into the pit. Then our fun was spoiled by some
damn demoman who came in. Oh well.

Ok, I was once playing a true CTF version of 2fort5.
Me and an engineer where chasing a HWguy who was carrying away our
flag, i was trying to take him out with my tranqs (why?). I watch
as my engineer friend was erased from the world, i managed to feign
before the HWguy killed him, then I jumped up and knifed him in the
back, he didn't cap

Ok...I started out in 2fort5. I started in the room
with the dungeon like wall...well, I went downstairs, took the basement
way into the water, swam across, went undernieth to thier base, on
the way I set the skin to Sniper, and changed colour to team2. (I
was on team1) Anyway, I went up to the sniper's nest, aimed my good
'ol knife, stabbed the 5 snipers there, went back to the water, Changed
to a soldier, pretended to fire rockets at blue (my team) and stabbed
the 5 snipers again. But, I was caught by a different sniper. He was
in blue's base gaurding it. BANG! miss BANG! miss BANG! hit!!! A blue
medic came up, thinking i was red, tried using his BioWeapoon on me.
I used my favorite "Human Shield" technique. While I was behind him,
I "Played Fake Dead". The medic ran off, and the foolish sniper thought
I was dead, and turned his attiention to the entrances to the sniper
nest. Using my grappling hook, swung across, stabbed the enemy, but
I was in trouble (again). I had no choice but to: Attack the sniper
with the knife, Use the tranq. gun, then stab him, Feing, call for
reinforcements, run away, or die like a coward spy. I chose to stab
him. It worked! The idiot sniper fell for it!!! After he died, I said
"Boy, are snipers stupid or what? 11 fell victim to the mighty spy!
