No predictions last week, as the JLA page dropped from sight, and the schedule wasn't distributed until the day of the match. If you're keeping track though, let's just say that I predicted every match correctly... The JLA page still hasn't found a new home yet, but I have this weeks schedule in my hand. After Sunday, the league goes on hiatus for 2 weeks in observance of the holiday season. Here we go.... - Week 8: Tier 1 map is Slvforts2 and the Tier 2 map is H4rdcore-
Tier 1 Division news: Without the JLA page, news is sparse...
Not a lot of analysis here folks. We're looking
at a Wolvesmoon squad that has been consistent for months now, and could be at the
top of their game, facing off against a BH group that seems to be lacking some cohesiveness. All offense and defense abilities aside, this is Silverforts, and on this
map it all comes down to communication and experience. WM has a strong corp of veterans, and I think they're
fully capable of outpacing BH on this map. On the other side of things, BH suffered a 15-0 rout at the hands of DJedi just last
week on Slvfort2, and their inexperience with the map cost them dearly. It won't be impossible for them to take a win here,
but it's going to take a lot of practice before Sunday... I think the overwhelming edge goes to WM on this one, and I look for them to take it in a
landslide. BH has the skills and the leadership to prove me wrong here, but it's going to take a lot of effort and dedication
on their part. Go With: Wolvesmoon
Not much history for either clan on this map. After speaking with
representatives of both clans, and investigating their previous engagements, I'm leaning towards the Blood
of the FOLD. For the most part, FOLD has been on a hot-streak lately, and although Ht has been holding their own
as well, I don't feel that they've faced many opponents of the caliber presented by the new FOLD. When it comes down
to Slvfort2 experience, the FOLD representative admitted that they had to polish some rust and re-learn the map a bit,
but compared to Ht's 1-2 record in matches/scrims on this one, I'm still putting my money on FOLD. I don't expect this to be an easy win by any means, but I think FOLD will sneak by. Go With: FOLD Now I may be wrong about this one, but it appears to me that GT has been locked in
a pocket of time and space where Slvfort2 does not exist, as their match history does not show any evidence of it.
However, common sense dictates that since Justice|GT has a vested interest in JLA, his clan should be prepared for
battle on any map the league recognizes. To that end, I expect GT to be a formidle opponent to the Jedis, as GT is
a skilled and hardworking clan that are a challenge on any map. Having said that, I should say that I'm still going with DJedi on this one. Having
never been beaten in all 3 previous outings on Slvfort2, the Jedi have proven that they are prepared to do battle on this map.
As mentioned previously, this map is not as much about fragging as it is about communication and coordination, and I believe
DJedi has prepared adequately for the challenge of GT I expect this to be a nailbiter as the undefeated DJedi face their most formidable opponent
thus far on Silverforts. DJedi by a cap or two. Go With: Digital Jedi I hate to kick a clan while their down, but things don't look good for Nightmar3 again
this week. Coming off a significant loss to FOLD last week, they now face a TN squad that not only beat FOLD on this map
just last month, but has also gone toe to toe with all of TF's top clans lately, and come out on top a large part of the time.
Unless they practice every waking moment from now until Sunday, or TN has major personnel issues, The Nothing will come out on top
of this one. Go With: The Nothing
Tier 2
Division news: Again, with no JLA page this week, I have no
idea which of these clans are even still in the league, but let's just pretend that they all are...
Ok, maybe I'm reading this wrong, but it sure looks like Ciab and DLG played
each other on H4rdcore for JLA last Sunday too... Since the results of that meeting left DLG clutching their backsides
in pain as they fell 56-22 to Ciab, this becomes a fairly easy pick. Go With: CiaB
Wow. Now this is the kind of prediction that people in my position long for.
Since [up] does not appear to have a web page, and the one person in their IRC channel didn't answer me, I think
I can formulate my own opinions on this one. I'm predicting that there will be no winner, since neither clan will
have enough players show up to accept the other clan's forfeit. Go With: no winner here.
I get the impression that wTF may be having roster problems lately,
so I'm hoping they'll be around to play iQ this week. Regardless, I believe that if wTF shows up,
they will lose. iQ has defeated the likes of DoW and EHA on h4rdcore recently, and I think wTF lacks the
defense they'll need in order to stop them. Go With: iQ
GP appears to lack match experience on H4rdcore, so if this match takes place on the
default map, things should be interesting. Nevertheless, I know what GP is capable of, and I'm going to give them the
slight edge here, assuming that their key players show up. This is the match of the week for Tier 2, without a doubt. Go With: GP
Warrior Nation looks to be one of the better up and coming clans in Tier 2, so
we'll keep an eye on them in the coming weeks...but this week they'll lose. The Project has been tearing up their
competition in JLA, and it will take a well coordinated, highly skilled effort to stop them. Go With: {P}
