The Online Gaming League's TFC Ladder is a bit different than the traditional TF1 league. Rather than ranking clans based upon their overall records (wins and losses), a clans' ranking is determined by their "rung" on the ladder. If clan A at rung #20 beats clan B above them at rung #15 then clan A moves to #15 dropping clan B to #16. If the higher ranked clan wins then both clans keep their same position on the ladder. Clans may not challenge the same opponents within seven days of a prior match. New clans joining the league are placed at the bottom of the ladder where they have to work their way up. This is the reason why some clans with very bad records are higher up on the ladder than some other clans with excellent records.
There is no official scheduling of matches in the OGL. Any clan may challenge any other clan above them, at any time, within a certain number of rungs. The challenged clan must respond offering two possible match dates as well as their map preferences. Matches are played over two rounds with the total teamscore (not frags) determining the winner. Any ties are broken in a third round, or more rounds if necessary.
Currently the OGL TFC Ladder plays with the standard TFC maps from Valve and uses teamplay 21 as the default teamplay setting.
