5 new descriptions and the poll results
5 new descriptions this time:
- madhouse – MadHouse by Shamus Young (Crap)
- magnet – Magnet Interactive Studios by Andy House (Crap)
- mayard – Sir Mayard and the Mountain by David Jewsbury (Average)
- shaft29 – Shaft of the Soulless by Alan Troup (Bad)
- sm57_pulsar_se – The Lair of DOOMestic Animals by PuLSaR (Nice)
Mayard might be something for the lovers of storyline-tryouts. PuLSaR’s map is a must. The others… well… let’s say they are a bit aged.
The Best Quake Singleplayer Release of 2006 poll is over. Congratulations to than for the winning DM3RMX: The Occupied Base! (I wish I had some award graphic…) than had a head start but JPL’s Event Horizon came quite near in the end. Trinca’s Escape and ORL’s Orlmap Episode are tied on the third place. Keep in mind that this vote was for the “one single best release”, so don’t judge the other maps by their “bad” ranks. In Ovo would be in my personal top5 for example.
Spring-cleaning…
Oh, the site looks different? Yes, it does. As I realised that all this wiki/php/database/dynamic/blah totally killed my productivity I decided to go with plain html files from now on. Html is easy to edit and even more easy to backup or mirror. Unfortunately it means that users cannot just add comments or ratings. On the other hand it is much easier to maintain and add descriptions, read How To Contribute on that.
The content is very poor at the moment, but I decided to publish it in this state. To get just a plain directory listing go to /filebase. I will add the maps to the lists when the respective description is done. I know that will takes ages, but it keeps me from a lot of work right now. ;)
