ramp.. gibstats records stats from a quake log... condebug or whatever.

Although the first game I had to put in manually. Muller d/c mid game and the game paused.. apparently gib stats did not like that. The rest of the stats will all be based on gibstats

                  GameStatus Server Stats

Not quite sure if any of you have taken note to my signature app...

to my knowledge, the CLQ hasnt tracked a netquake server in a very long time. Gamestatus has been around roughly a little after the CLQ closed its doors.

thanks to our buddy jackhole, tal.

The problem with gamestatus is it only reports on how many frags a player has, and the amount of time they played. This information is available to anyone with a server browser. We're talking here about getting more information - Death count, ammo used, who killed who, etc which currently it seems is only possible by parsing the output of the serverlogs.

I agree, more in-depth coverage would be nice.

on subj; I found this article quite impressive, and think its a great idea. great work Tal!

if we could get the admin here from Speaknow he could put Gibstats into Speak, that would be good. As far as CTF goes, it would be nice if an admin from this website can somehow set up a live board which takes the Gibstats info directly from ctf.quakeone.com.

mindz, gamstatus says you only have 500 frags? thats why its flawed.. im sure you have ALOT more frags then 500...
i want to see it followed like Mplayer..
                            http://web.archive.org/web/199807031.../rated000.html
                            Like so...
but i think the issue will be if you want the frags to count to your "ranked info" you need to use the same IP and or Name.. which is difficult.. Mplayer ranked didnt let you change your name, so that how it kept track.
it would be nice if it tracked on crmod "Quad Kills" or "DC's but also DC kills on the other team".. that would be pretty cool.. ALOT to go over and to work on, but if someone managed to do it i think quake would change ALOT.. i'd for sure come back and play.

I'll take a snippet out of it for you :

The intention of The Grunt Vault is to introduce you, the reader, with our current player base. Each week, I will write a piece about one player of my choosing, their strengths, their weaknesses, overall style, and potential. The pieces I write are not meant to attack a single player, invoke arguments, or promote an ego battle, but youre more than welcome to debate and trade thoughts peacefully. I want to help people familiarize themselves with the players who play this game, and for people coming back to feel that they know who theyre playing with.

I don't understand why some people need to post something for the sake of playing devil's advocate, if you don't like it, you don't have to read it. You can call it something similar to a scouting report.

If anything, it just helps bring the community a bit closer together. The report gives current players an identity to new people playing Quake. Believe it or not, people do join and they do ask questions from better players (Kimp would come to mind, whether you like him or not is irrelevant). If someone chooses to do a writeup and put it up, they are more than welcome.
Sounds like a good deal, I look forward to seeing it in place.
