Voted, had wait 15 minutes in line.

The identity confirmation in Ohio is rather thorough. You present your driver's license (they accept a few other things), they look your name up in a register book that your signature (that register book is very thorough). Then they mark it and you sign (apparently to prevent double voting).

There was a large sign saying if you go to the wrong precinct you can't vote.

Apparently the lines at some of the other precincts were very long (2 hour waits) so 15 minutes didn't seem like a bad deal, although the line moved very slowly. There were fewer voting machines than in the past. Seemed like half as many.

If Ohio ends up being important to figure out who won the election, and if it is even slightly close in Ohio, I don't think the election winner will be known for sure even this week.

Ohio mailed out absentee ballots to all registered voters earlier in the year (you have to fill in your driver's license number and mail it back). They think as many as 10-30% of voters may have voted in that manner. These don't get counted immediately and many of them are potentially still in the mail.

So if the election ends up being tight in other states and Ohio has any relevance as to the result, I don't think the election winner is going to be known for quite a while ...

Miami is at it again, they have tossed out 700 absentee ballots today already and the lines to vote are taking over 4 hours. You can see how the largest block of voters in Florida is manipulated even if you were blind. If you want your vote actually counted do not ever use an absentee ballot.

I didn't feel comfortable with mailing mine in, which is why I didn't. Still, that concern probably has no basis, but I knew if I voted in person I wouldn't need worry about that.

I just came home from voting. In and out in about 5 minutes with no problems at my location. I was #913 at my polling center. Yay democracy!

That sounds pretty tough; here *every voter* is mailed a slip of paper, which you have to bring in order to vote (you can also vote per mail). But there is practically never any waiting.

Four hours waiting in line to vote; that sounds like 1930.

It's interesting though. I wonder who wins. Good luck dudes.
