Sound is messed up.

FOQ-A trying to be helpful, but if you follow that advice, you won't be able to connect to a cheat-free server.

I connected to cheatfree with it. Just about the only thing I ever did to Quake that messed up my cheat-free access was vispatching. And after I deleted everything and reinstalled Quake I noticed how the sound was sort of dull (as in not sharp) so it was working.

What is your pq_maxfps? Anything above 150 is usually unnecessary and beyond the ability of the human eye to detect.

That's probably because your original sounds were in the pak files and the resampled were in folders? Cheat-free runs a checksum on the pak files and Proquake

The origional pak0.pak and pak1.pak were unmodified, and the sound files WERE in the .pak files, not folders. However, in the other .paks, there was a folder called sound in there by default.

cheatfree checks all the paks you have loaded into quake. This is why I can't load my custom skin in pak2 because cheatfree is like OMFG PAK2 HAX!

Cheatfree probally thinks your skins are fullbright or something. Cheatfree probally doesnt think sounds could be a cheat because you'd be used to the normal sounds, modified sounds would throw u off unless they were the same thing only a higher frequendy.

yah i really dont wanna have to worry about modifying the .pak files..
im entering that silly tournament soon and i dont wanna jeprodise me or my team from being kicked out..

k.. with pq_drawfps.. i get around 250 average


i have my pq_maxfps at 300 cause for some weird reason it actually makes the sound alot better.. when i put it down to 150 it gets worse.. when im fighting someone and my fps drops to 250ish my sound also goes to shit so does my whole quake and it feels like im going laggin..

i dont think it something wrong with my computer but maybe a format would help?

You are not modifying the origional pak files, you're more of them.

foqer I find it hard to believe that you added another pak file with the cheatfree and passed the check. Also, make sure your sentences MAKE SENSE before you post them :-/

and just so you know, Shmack, Quakeone servers, and Fear are not cheat free servers. Try joining phat
