    how do u turn on the 7 HUD Elements Sets so that it works

    Pick the one you want and unzip the .png files into c:\quake\qrack\gfx

    If you open c:\quake\qrack\gfx and there are .png files that are numbers and a few that are weapons, you did it right.

    Use cl_sbar 0/cl_sbar 1 to toggle the HUD background.

        It's hiding in here.

        Btw ... make sure there isn't a pak1.pak in c:\quake\qrack otherwise qrack will probably use the one in that pak instead of the one in the folder.

        Using replacement HUD elements isn't necessary easily. You might need to use Pakscape to check thru the pak0.pak (and pak1.pak) in c:\quake\qrack to make sure there aren't hud elements in it.

        With Qrack I'm pretty sure that anything in a pak files trumps something outside the pak file.

            I provided the wrong instructions, the contents need to go into

            c:\quake\qrack\textures\wad

            Sorry, I confused it with menu replacement graphics. No wonder it wasn't working.

              ok so u name the folder the stuff is in "wad" right?

                Make a folder in c:\quake\qrack called textures

                In the textures folder, make a subfolder called wads

                Put the HUD set you want into c:\quake\qrack\textures\wads folder and as long as you do not have a pak0.pak or pak1.pak in c:\quake\qrack that contains replacement HUD elements in .tga or .png form, Qrack will use them.

                    Are you using the pak1.pak from the Qrack site?

                    /I will help you until this works for you. I'll make you a pak2.pak if I have to, to see that this works.

                      well i am using the pak file from qrack and im using the character models and i have that dark angels mod thingy for the id1.pak(i renamed it pak2.pak in the id1 directory)

                          Check back in 30-45 minutes and I will have a pak for you. Or 7 of them. You only have pak0.pak and pak1.pak in c:\quake\qrack, right?

                          I'll make you a pak2.pak or make an adjusted pak1.pak or whatever I need to do.

                          Anyway, check back in 30-45 minutes.

                            Here you go

                            http://www.quake-1.com/files/texture...sets-qrack.zip

                            It is a regular zip file. Take the HUD you wish to use and put it into c:\quake\qrack as pak2.pak

                            If you already have a pak2.pak in c:\quake\qrack then you'd make it pak3.pak

                            Make sure there are no files in c:\quake\qrack\textures\wad or c:\quake\id1\textures\wad (even better if the directories don't exist).

                            Tried and tested with the Qrack pak1.pak with all the extra graphics and it works fine.

                            Should be problem solved.
