Hmmnn maybe its early in the morning but I dont see the original poster requesting any downloading of quake, but just some instructions requested.
It is pretty straight forward until you run into issues like OS/graphics compatability issues etc.

I don't like piracy, but what I even like less is denunciators and bootlickers of organizations like the ESA.

I own a legit copy of Quake and id deserves to be paid the few bucks they want for the game, absolutely no doubt about that here. But to denunciate people, omfg.

Sigh... I thought that hdz link was only for backups for teammates who bought the game but when "oh shit my computer crashed and we have a match in 10 minutes!".... I hope the HDZ servers dont go down now!
