Well, well. This is a rare case where buying a game would actually work and the pirated copy does not (at least whatever weird thing you downloaded)...

      Quite.

Your hipnotic pak0.pak should be about 35MB; for ID1 pak0 should be about 17MB and pak1 about 33MB. It sounds a lot like you got a HTML page instead of the hipnotic pak at least.

        .pak content.... example

In order to open a pak file, you need either PakExplorer or WinPAK... find one of these on the internet, donwload it, install it, and check what's in the paks....

If your hipnotic.pak does not look like this:

Then you have a serious problem

Ok this is what PAK0 looks like in the hipnotic folder when I open it with WINPAK.exe:

          configs/avatar.cfg
          configs/chuck.cfg
          configs/crums.cfg
          configs/dabug.cfg
          configs/eg.cfg
          configs/giggler.cfg
          configs/giggler.csr
          configs/harry.cfg
          configs/jim.cfg
          configs/joe.cfg
          configs/joel.cfg
          configs/kc.cfg
          configs/levelord.cfg

This is just some of it I can put all of it down if you want. But I don't think there is a problem with the PAK file in hipnotic.

The picture I posted is my the Hipnotic pack (that is working fine for me BTW), so there are certain differences that make me conclude you do not have proper hipnotic pak0.pak file... You should look for a correct one IMHO

Also, for future reference for anybody else wanting to run the mission packs:
Never, ever use -game hipnotic or -game rogue.
              Always use -hipnotic or -rogue.

Technically, both will work and will be playable, but the latter changes some aspects of the engine, such as HUD elements. If you don't use the correct command-line options, it won't, for example, show the icons for the new weapons in the status bar. They will still be available for selection, but they won't show up on the HUD like they would using the correct command-line parameters. This includes weapons that appear on the same slot as existing weapons (i.e. the lava nailguns have a different icons that appear over the originals while selected).

Are PAK files changable or modifyable? Will I be able to modify the PAK file to look like yours JPL? Like delete or reorganise files and folders.

I never tested such feature, but I guess it may be possible as PAKExplorer behaves like a browser... though..
Simpliest way would be to find one that works

Ok. Well what I will do is I will first try to modify my PAK file to look like yours and if that doesn't work then I will try to download a different one. To modify it I will probably need to know what files are in the directories in your PAK file JPL. LIke in the post I wrote and added on the 06-03-2010, 10:28 PM.

Modifying the PAK will work fine, but if you try to play multiplayer on any server that does a hash check, it will fail and you will not be able to connect to the server.
