Radeon Owners, WARNING !!

Last night I updated both DirectX & Video drivers.... the newest AMD driver's come packaged with some shit called "AMD Vision Engine" , and so far it's done nothing but piss me off. It apparently is replacing CCC, and in order to REVERT entirely (back to a drivers+CCC) , I gotta install this crap Download Windows Installer CleanUp Utility 2.5.0.1 Free - Remove Windows Installer configuration information on failed installs - Softpedia and eliminate everything AMD/Radeon just to get rid of the new TRASH being forced down my throat.....


Oh joy, some one should have told them to fn do more inhouse testing before ripping up the CCC Foundation....... seriously.

Oh yea, these updates created the shittiest problem. While in Quake, using the Mouse2 button is mysteriously kicking me out of quake like I alt+tabbed. Which means playing Quake = fucked.

7, and thats the first thing I did. It's really weird because I was given no notice that the new updates was going to literally be this much of a pain in the ass. So far I've tried rolling back driver's, uninstalling everything AMD/Radeon/CCC/ASUS Video card related.


I gave up and just tried quaking... work on it later.heh :/ The Mouse2 weird clicking off Quake shit (Im using fullscreen,how the fn hell is the mouse reaching outside the fullscreen and clicking on the 2nd monitor is kicking me out of DirectQ/Qrack.

I'm not the only one who's not pleased with the new AMD software that just so happens to be a sabotaging ninja in disguise as CCC + Drivers update.

Yeah, I'm not liking the drivers myself. The 5870 has ridiculous power, but the drivers are really lacking... no vsync in Stalker, and CCC kept changing my monitor's resolution on me.

You upgraded to the Vision Engine Crap??? Have you disbanded of it successfully yet?
I'm still snuggled up nice and closer than I would prefer to these complete shit driver's.....

I think im just going to email AMD and bitch and complain and make someone run through my shit with a fine tooth comb. Tech support does grow on tree's.

my radeon that came with the desktop i bought recently came with the new engine standard. the CCC was never there. I haven't had any problems other than the new one isn't as user friendly as the CCC, and doesnt seem to have as many options.

I would've checked the hotkey binds in your Control panel, as that vision stuff sounds like stuff for the 3d glasses, as to why they'd use a mouse2 bind or any such thing i'm clueless, but if you checked a hotkeys field in your control panel and disabled the hotkeys, u might not of had any issues.

I don't use ati anymore, mainly b/c my old board was a navidia board, tho i transplanted to a new board now and have proper cooling for the board now, that i no longer have any crashes and weirdness in games now that i moved my cpu and ram over to the new board and new case.

It's still CCC, they just changed the name... I just uninstalled the drivers, and downloaded the separate video driver only package.

Sometimes the bios gets a new firmware on the GPU the revision number posts at boot.Check if the firmware has been changed there.

I'm actually surprised foqer hasn't said this yet, but radeon is KNOWN for shitty software lol. Nvidia > Radeon Anyday.

I've never heard of a video driver flashing the GPU BIOS before.
