sure, let me just dig up links for all of them for you

for healthboxes, try the one OoPpEe made, which even have added pulsating glow:
    http://quakeone.com/forums/quake-mod...acks-mega.html

for ammo boxes... seven has released a bunch which look great and are animated too:
    http://quakeone.com/forums/quake-mod...d-b_boxes.html

for the item pick-ups, try the ones OoPpEe made, they look amazing, the models from that pack are just as detailed as from modern games:
    http://quakeone.com/forums/quake-mod...-powerups.html

for weapons... id advise rygels weapons, they look the most amazing IMO:
    hud weapons: http://hellcathq.com/h2tp/Quake/Weapons-equip.pk3
    weapons pick-ups: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6IFN846F

and in case you got the mission packs too: OoPpEe has made some amazing-looking weapons for both of those too
    for scourge of armagon:http://quakeone.com/forums/quake-mod...pons-pack.html
and for dissolution of eternity: http://quakeone.com/forums/quake-mod...magun-fix.html
and also make sure to check out the alternate version for the lava-SNG by OoPpEe for dissolution of eternity, its the most awesome looking weapon there is: http://quakeone.com/forums/quake-mod...-type-1-a.html

if you want to use the weapons for the mission packs too, dont put the files for those in the ID1 folder!
instead, put the files for scourge of armagon in the folder called hipnotic, and the ones for dissolution of eternity in the folder called 'rogue'

@webangel: that pack is nice, but it has some bugs due to how its packed. read sevens post in that thread to see which bugs

are you curious about what all there is out there in terms of HD content for quake?

      Why? ....
He can put everything (ID1/MP1/MP2 Textures, Weapons and Models .pk3s) in the id1 folder.
      Try it!

This is the reason, why I have made a animated version of it!

        you can? didnt know that
ah well, i still prefer putting them in my rogue and hypnotic folders myself, easier to see which add-ons are for what
and i already have enough of a mess in my ID1 folder cuz of the tons of add-ons i got in there

I recomend you to save at least the Textures all into ID1!
Some of the MP1 textures are also used in MP2 !

OK, now I've downloaded the small mod compilation and it seems to work, mint! However I dont know how to change it's different mod options. Is this "Selectable via cvar" a way to change them? If so then I dont understand how, could somebody tell me, please?

I'll list what parts of the compilation I want working in my quake.
From the list from this thread: http://quakeone.com/forums/quake-mod...mpilation.html

1 - flame type: improved dpmods sprite
            2 - Footsteps : yes
3 - Nailguns nail correction: yes
4 - Kickable gibs and heads: yes!
5 - multiple gib cvars to adjust the gib behaviour to your likings: Yes, can anyone recommend good gib behaviour settings?
            6 - gibbable corpses: yes
7 - Nails stick in Walls: yes
8 - Added 3 death animations: are the... ghosts and demons that appear when I kill monsters these animations? I'd like to turn these off
9 - added axe sound when player hits a monster: yes!
10 - added particle muzzleflashes for both shotguns and nailguns: yes

Now how do I change the compilation options? Please help!

adjustable via cvar means you can change their settings by typing the commands in the console from quake, which you can get by pressing the '~' button on your keyboard
or you can add the commands to your autoexec.cfg, if you do that you dont have to re-enable them everytime you play

for gib behaviour id recommend leaving the amount on default and turning kick-gibs off, cuz i personally dont like it much.
can especailly be kinda annoying if you got a room full of kicks and you try to walk through them and they keep flying around, and imo it looks kinda unrealistic, lol

and for the ghost animations: yes these are the death animations that seven meant in the readme

these can be adding the following lines in your autoexec.cgf file in your ID1 folder. or if you dont have an autoexec.cfg file, just make one, and put these lines in them:
              set demon 0
              set dog 0
              set enforcer 0
              set hknight 0
              set knight 0
              set ogre 0
              set shalrath 0
              set shambler 0
              set soldier 0
              set wizard 0
              set zombie 0

and to turn the kickable gibs off, add this line to the autoexec.cfg:
'set kickgibs 1' turns it on
'set kickgibs 0' turns it off
without the ' ' of course

and for the flames, id recommend using the particle-flames instead of the improved dpmod sprite, they look even nicer, and they add little to no performancedrop compared to the sprite-flames.
you can change them by adding this in autoexec.cfg:
              'set flamestyle 2' for particleflames
'set flamestyle 1' for dpmod sprite

if you use the console for these commands, be sure to type 'restart' after using any commands to make them get in effect, they wont affect your game unless you restart the map.
or if you add the lines to your autoexec, be sure to do a restart of the level once for the effects to apply if you load a savegame if it was saved it before making any changes to the settings

oh, and try setting gib duration to unlimited, which can be done with this:
              'set gibsduration 0'
that way gibs will stay forever and dont fade away after a while
adds no lag at all. mightve not been possible back when quake was made, but nowadays its no problem to make gibs stay forever since they arent extremely detailed anyway

oh, and make sure to also try the gibs from black rayne: http://quakeone.com/forums/quake-mod...html#post90495
they look way more awesome then any other ones ive seen IMO
they might maybe not be for you, but personally i totally love them
btw if you try them and dont see a difference in-game, try adding a Z at the start of the name of the pk3 to make it be load last

Read the readme.txt which comes with the small mod compilation. Everything is explained in there. A little bit own work is appreciated.

Seven's death animations are impressive but whether they fit your vission of quake is a matter of taste.

If you want to try them do not put "set *monster* 0" etc commands in autoexec.cfg, because these commands will turn them off.

Edit: I see you actually wanted to turn them off... I've red only current page and thought splitterface mixed it Anyway you had pretty much everything you wanted preconfigured in compilations I've linked you earlier

Quake HD: Embrace the decline and have some guilty pleasure with it, or join a club for monocled gentlemen at quaddicted and play Quake the way it's meant to be played.
