Ok this has been like a 3 week problem for me, the only thing new i have done is download the new qrack version.. What happens is this i start quake use console to try and connect to quake.shmack.net, speaknow.quakeone.com, rage.quakeone.com, quake.thisserversucks.com:26003.. at different times ofcourse it says trying, still trying, still trying... etc no response... I have tried connecting with the ip address aswell and going to the multiplayer menu and typing it from there...... I have the same problem with quake 3 and quake 4 trying to use the multiplayer options no servers load and acts like i have no connection.. I have tried disabling my firewall to see if that was the problem but no such luck.. my modem lights dont even flicker when i try to connect to any servers? its weird. Any suggestions on how to fix this or how to diagnose the problem? I can connect to webpages and chat clients etc, with no problem even dl and upload, i have ran test on dslreports.com and other sites. no issue i even went to my router login page to see if there was a problem i ran the diagnostic on there and no problems.. This is nerve racking because i miss my online play
so any help will help! Thank you guys in advance. Also i have tried downloading the demo version of quake and putting a client in that folder still the same problem. I even tried this on a different harddrive aswell.

Are you going through a router?
Have you tried turning off Windows Firewall temporarily? or adding an exception to the Firewall for your client?/application?Want to get into playing Quake again? Click here for the Multiplayer-Startup kit! laissez bon temps rouler!

In Quake, type test2 speaknow.quakeone.com and what does it do?
2. If it DOESN'T do anything, Quake is being blocked by a firewall. Check Windows Firewall settings and make sure it is in the permitted list in the control panel.
1. If TEST2 does work, check your router to make sure UDP isn't forwarded or something crazy like that. "test2" uses TCP/IP and not UDP if I recall, so it is a weird router setting.Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. What OS version are you using? I have heard some issues with win7 and linux servers with UDP packets failing.
Point the -ip to your IPv4 default gateway, ie 192.168.1.1.
Or if anything else try disconnecting the router completely, plug the modem directly to the Ethernet on your machine.
Doesnt seem like an application error as it also fails on Quake3/4...

im using windows 7 64 bit os... my router = dsl modem, but has a router login page when i type a certain ip address into my web browser, i reset everything back to factory default on it. hold on i will make a screen cap of what is going on when i load quake and try to connect and post it as a video so you can see, maybe that will help, is there any specifics i should show in this video before i make it?

Do not use -ip with modern ProQuake or Qrack, it is unnecessary.
Either way ... unless you have the most bizarre of circumstances, this is clearly a firewall problem.
That being said, you should do a Start->Run->cmd.exe and type ipconfig and do an edit copy and post the results here.Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

What's the tunnel adapter? Is that some sort of secure anonymous browsing proxy service like anonymizer.com provides?Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.
