Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.
So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

I've scavenged the Nexuiz forums in the past and recently for settings that improve the FPS in DP. If I guess you are considered a "forum addon"Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. funkify: Yes, this means maps can be downloaded. But not from pak0/1.pak

haloooooooooooooo i havent been here in ages how u all doing
As for the new darkplaces engine it looks pretty i defenitly have to give it a go.
If the handling of the engin is better than fte i will replace fte but i have never like the feel of darkplaces but is shure does look pretty.
O on the thing of having crappy looking games i still dont realy understand it my quake has a lot of textures and it runs bloom and shadows and i play the same if not better than with quake on lower specs (bloom shadows and textures (with a grid'ish layout can be used to ur advantage))

DarkPlaces has always seemed to me as being a badass client, I have however had problems running it on versions, from brightness problems to the current problem I am having, complete client lockups. I don't know if its the client or maybe the compatibility between the software and hardware. I would like to give DP a fair shot and run it for a while and make a formal opinion but as of right now Qrack is my top client. The only reason Qrack is my favorite right now are for (In this order)
Smooth game feeling (Mouse feels like GLPro)
Brightness isn't an issue, I just have to use "gamma" in console
Crosshairs (I think DP has this same function)
Look (Qrack can look 90% like GLpro to me which is a big PLUS)
Theres a few other things but there irrelevant

Get a clue, I test DP for an hour or two with Baker roughly, got frustrated with it,and wont open it again until a newer release has been issued that atleast corrects/alters the current issues plagueing it as a Quake Engine.
Are you sure you don't happen to have a straight shaft model installed somewhere? DarkPlaces loads files at higher priority than paks, opposite Quake's behavior, this makes it easier to customize the id1 directory by just adding replacement files, rather than having to unpack the paks first before you can replace stuff.
