Of course. I'm testing things and want to see if I can get the feel right.

While those two numbers for sure look funny according to darkplaces.txt those are the quake defaults and look more sane :
      Code:
      in_pitch_max 80
      in_pitch_min -70

I've scavenged the Nexuiz forums in the past and recently for settings that improve the FPS in DP. If I guess you are considered a "forum addon"

          Does this mean maps?

Yeah i try to be helpful in the Nexuiz forum which resulted in quite a lot of posts there

funkify: Yes, this means maps can be downloaded. But not from pak0/1.pak

I recall LH telling me that you can dl from pak0 since it's free anyways. pak1 is not allowed.

btw the downloading is done in real time. No need to wait until all the items are downloaded. Just play as it downloads

haloooooooooooooo i havent been here in ages how u all doing

As for the new darkplaces engine it looks pretty i defenitly have to give it a go.
If the handling of the engin is better than fte i will replace fte but i have never like the feel of darkplaces but is shure does look pretty.

O on the thing of having crappy looking games i still dont realy understand it my quake has a lot of textures and it runs bloom and shadows and i play the same if not better than with quake on lower specs (bloom shadows and textures (with a grid'ish layout can be used to ur advantage))

DarkPlaces has always seemed to me as being a badass client, I have however had problems running it on versions, from brightness problems to the current problem I am having, complete client lockups. I don't know if its the client or maybe the compatibility between the software and hardware. I would like to give DP a fair shot and run it for a while and make a formal opinion but as of right now Qrack is my top client. The only reason Qrack is my favorite right now are for (In this order)

Smooth game feeling (Mouse feels like GLPro)
Brightness isn't an issue, I just have to use "gamma" in console
Crosshairs (I think DP has this same function)
Look (Qrack can look 90% like GLpro to me which is a big PLUS)

Theres a few other things but there irrelevant
                  QuakeOne.com
                  Quake One Resurrection

                  QuakeOne.com/qrack
                  Great Quake engine

Get Qrack 1.60.1 running in Ubuntu!

With all the LG options turned off,I get a straight shaft. NOT the original Lightning model. Get a clue, I test DP for an hour or two with Baker roughly, got frustrated with it,and wont open it again until a newer release has been issued that atleast corrects/alters the current issues plagueing it as a Quake Engine.
The cl_beams_polygons option (the 'straight shaft') is turned off by choosing Effects: Quake, or the option that was mentioned.

Are you sure you don't happen to have a straight shaft model installed somewhere? DarkPlaces loads files at higher priority than paks, opposite Quake's behavior, this makes it easier to customize the id1 directory by just adding replacement files, rather than having to unpack the paks first before you can replace stuff.
