If you are singleplayer prone, try DarkPlaces, ProQuake, or FitzQuake. My handywork works on my machine 100% of the time, other than that Google can finish this sentence.
I looked at both Joequake and qrack and for the most part they look similar, so for the most part Ill run Joequake, but for some things which joe wont load or will only run for a moment, like arwop, fort driant, Ill use fritz which is very stable. Thanks again.
Yeah, I'd definitely recommend a combination of Fitz and Joe. I feel R00k's pain here. I'd love to have guaranteed Windows 98 support for people like you all of the time, but I can't get drivers for any hardware, it won't work right in VMWare, so I can't even test a build to see if it as much as kinda works. It's just at that point where one has to declare a cut-off.

I understand what youre saying. To be honest, everything from around 2000 is so cheap now, it would just be easier to have 2 computers and have the best of both worlds. I think thats what Ill do.
What would be a good video card to run Qrack or Darkplaces? The computer I was given has windows xp with a P4 and a ATI Radeon 9250 256MB 128 bit PCI Video Card
Im assuming thats a pci-express card. Would there be a better card out there that will work with the pci-E slot? Or will the P4 be the bottleneck?
Thanks for all the help guys.
Edit: Just found out that its a regular PCI card. fuck! Well shit. I assumed it was a pci-express card. I might just try it anyways. Double fuck. I just looked up the specs on the win XP computer and the "retrorig" is actually faster than the win XP computer I was going to use besides the voodoo card in the retrorig of course. I guess it really doesnt matter since the only graphics slot this mobo has is a pci. Well shit, back to drawing board. haha.
