Download: Engine X 4.57 - 32 MB (Source)

It won't have a software build (WinQuakey), because ProQuake's software renderer will have the last few remaining lacking JoeQuake features.

Engine X is attempt to entirely absorb JoeQuake and Enhanced GLQuake's outstanding features and developer notifications into an alternate ProQuake-like engine with the FitzQuake 0.85 protocol (but it doesn't have this yet) and all recent ProQuake modifications with a simplistic menu system.
It's not done. It's very good, but nowhere close to where I want it to be.
I was hoping to hold out for a more polished version, but it may be a month before I have such a version.
But historically, it has always been good to release incrementals to at least keep my versioning and debugging attempts smooth.
Likewise, I have a similar ProQuake that will probably be able to play Nehahra in a week or 2.
Notable bugs:
Dead bodies aren't colored.
No need for bug reports at this time. I have a list and know exactly what they are. I have a very heavily modified "next" version of this about 80% done but it may be a week out
