There are some small bugs in the build.

That being said, if you extract the build from the top post properly you won't have that issue. "User error" or "doing it wrong" whatever you prefer.

You should have a quake\enginex folder. It should have a couple of subfolders and a couple of pak files in there. If not, rinse and repeat.

Well, originally I ran the build in the first post first, before you posted the Dx8 version. So it's all there. I don't know what I could possibly be doing wrong, as I don't see it as a very complicated process.

In one of the next versions, I'll have it look to verify all the files are in the right place and if not kick out a user-friendly message clearly stating what is wrong and hopefully how to easily fix.

Fortunately it worked first time for me and although I can't seem to alt Tab it generally performed well.
However, one small query, it's not a major issue but is there any means to turn down the lg effect. It may be my now quite aged rig but whilst testing against stalker tonight I could hardly see when he was using the lg at very close quarters. It's no biggy but if i could turn the glare down it would help tremendously.

Keep up the excellent work Baker, it's really appreciated.

            Kind regards

            Monty

This going to bog things somewhat, but I've expanded the goals a bit:

              ProQuake
              FuhQuake
              ZQuake
              Enhanced GLQuake
              JoeQuake

              ---> EngineX

FuhQuake and ZQuake, being both Quakeworld clients are quite similar.
FuhQuake and JoeQuake are quite similar, with JoeQuake being largely a port of FuhQuake to NetQuake.
ProQuake and JoeQuake are quite similar, I have modelled a lot of ProQuake after JoeQuake.
ProQuake and Enhanced GLQuake are quite similar, both using unmodified rendering.

The idea comes from TyrQuake which builds both NetQuake and Quakeworld from a very similar codebase with a high degree of shared files.

This is going to give me a headache and be time consuming but the rationale goes like this:

              1. FuhQuake supports alphachains in Half-Life map format. I want them in Engine X.
              2. ZQuake is a Quakeworld engine with several great features including the ability to run NQ progs. In my opinion, there are certain situations where Quakeworld style prediction is vital ... like coop between 2 players.

Plus I'll gain greater understanding about some of the things I don't know about the Quakeworld engine.

I'm not sure if it will ever hit a point where I can fully merge the anticipated NetQuake and Quakeworld builds in a single exe, but that will be something surely attempted down the long, eventual road.
