But also, getting updates for other operating systems would be nice. Mac is severely lacking and I have no clue how linux is..

I guess you have bootcamp 4.0 but with 3.0 it should run fine with xp. google for it.

Yes, maybe you should quit playing quake if it doesn't run good on your superdupercomputer.

                    Quit yer cryin,
You got it better than us Linux guys with all kinds of options.
At worst you can compile the source yourself and run it native.
Otherwise just grab a mac port of GL and gtfi.

If it is Qrack you got yourself set on then either compile it or install Fink and run the 1.60 that Phen made for Linux.Search the forums for his tutorial.
I am not sure if Fink is available for Mac after 10.5 however,
Slackintosh is still around though if you got the balls for it. I was like the only guy on the planet running it on my iMac Blueberry.
And as for bootcamp I have my doubts about finding windows drivers for all that Mac hardware
I told you a VM would be shit.
Now I know your asking your self :
"Was that 6 shots or only 5 ?"
And to tell the truth in all the excitement I kinda lost track myself.
                    So you gotta ask yourself:
                    "Do I feel lucky?"

hah, baker has updated pro quake and it is actually playable. Still needs a lot of work but I don't know shit about coding. I can play CS:S with everything full graphic and have no issues.. but quake its like DERRR ERRR JFDLK:SFJ ERROR. such an old game.. that wasn't made for mac hardly. some lighting issues to resolve in pro quake, like its extremely dark. people would laugh cause I couldn't see them in shadows. it makes the char completely black.. worse than eyes cause u can't even see the spec of eyes. dealing with pro quake 4.66 cause it is the best out there for mac so far... fixed the mouse issue and other stuff. shit is moving along. ranting and ranting. gg
