Quake Chess server up

I have a dedicated server running at 173.59.95.86 port 26000.

It is Quake Chess (Quess).

It is like standard chess, but with Q1 characters as the pieces.


The maximum allowed players is 2, so if its full try reconnecting later.

You will need to unzip the Quess files to a folder called "quess" in your q1 folder(about 3mb total).

If it says overwrite, click yes.

Then add "-game quess" when running q1.

The controls are contained in the Readme.txt file in the quess folder.

We just played a pretty intense hour and a half long game. The Quake monster chess pieces add such a very appropriate touch to chess . The sound effects are also top-notch. The included levels are very well designed and attractive.

oooo... ooo.... Watching a chess game as an observer would be interesting...

If this takes off, increasing the observer spots would be sweet.... and having turn based team member moves would be cool... so there could be like a 2 v 2.

I've seen this mod, but havent played it online. It's VERY similar to BATTLECHESS and ARCHON.

From what i remember, Stratego was played in parents basements by boatloads of mega nerds.
It does not surprise me Splinter was one of these mega nerds.
